DC Direct, Medicom Body mods

(L to R) WWE 12 inch mattell fig, Joker on BBI body, Modified Medi Dark knight with Rocco Head, Modified DC Direct legs and WWE mattell Torso using the DC Direct Classic Superman Costume and custom alex ross Superman sculpt, Dc Direct Kingdom Come Superman..

Im a great fan of the Dc Direct figs, but was always bothered by their humongous size and posing them next to my other 1/6 figs.
Last week i decided to experiment on my Dc Direct Classic Superman by taking the torso off a $7.99 WWE Mattell torso and merging it with a some modified DC direct legs (i cut 1/4 inch above the ankle area). The end result wasnt bad. I Put the DC Direct Superman costume back on, and it fit better to scale with my other regular 12 inch figs. The Kingdom Come Supes on the right shows how much smaller the modfied Classic Superman fig now looks with the smaller torso and modified dc direct legs. Im going to try the same method with my other dc direct figs and see how they turn out.

The Medicom bats uses the medi body and suit with the Rocco head, but has extended/resulpted legs and padding added to the toso to give it more girth,Hope you like it!

These pics show the dc direct green lantern on the modified body compared to a a non modified dc direct flash. The difference is obvious..

Can you modify the dc direct figures body only without doing any body swaps? I just picked up a bunch of DC Direct figures and love them. They remind me of my Meego figures from the 70's but better. Thanks!

Im pretty sure you can with some serious sanding and rescupting, but it would take some work. The torso is "massive" i chose to just to replace it with the cheap wrestler ones and it looks good. still built, but not ginormous. I also shortend the legs a little above the ankle..

Thanks for the reply. Have almost every DC Direct figures. Hoping to win justice bats and batman begins on eBay. Then only dc super heroes I will need is power girl and zatana. Not into watchman or classic flash and green lantern.

Another boardie just used the DC direct Green lantern on the SST bats body and it fit fine. SO there are options out their to use these uniforms and sculpts on smaller bodies. The SST bats body looks great, but too damn expensive.
