It looks like DCD is doing their own version of the VCD figures. It doesn't really appeal to me...at least not for $50.

DC Direct begins the vinylization of the DC Universe! BATMAN is the first in a new line of large format and stylized vinyl UNI-FORMZ™ inspired by the red-hot "designer toy" phenomenon.

DC Direct joined forces with a leader in the contemporary toy movement, Monster 5, to create this powerfully built and unique vision of Batman for the first time. This bold new take on Batman is a must-have for collectors of contemporary toy design as well as traditional fans of superheroes!

Horrible.... leave the VCDs to medicom

AGREED..............................................................................................................................I'll still grab this:monkey3

What the hell is that? I looks like a cross between Batman , and **** knocker.

Everyone was saying similar stuff about the SW VCDs, but now they're very popular. Not my cup o tea, especially at that price - but somebody will like it. Seems DCD is watching Sideshow very closely as to what product to put out.

Maybe if he was rounded instead of angled he would look better.

That Batman: TAS angled look on everything is getting very old.

It looks OK, but there are a few things that make it look like an also-ran compared to the Medicom VCDs. First, there doesn't appear to be any articulation. Being able to pose the VCDs is one of the things that makes them so cool. Second, there are no accessories (other than the cape, which I assume is detachable). And third, one of the things that is great about the VCDs is the way the bodies have almost normal dimensions. The arms and legs are a bit short, and of course the heads, hands and feet are huge, but the bodies (torsos) themselves aren't overly-stylized. The angular look of this figure is so stylized that it is a bit distracting.

Still, it is Batman...

:)

Problem here is, is all they should have done is used the Animated series style. Would look WAY cooler than bulky here does.

True animated series style VCD figures would've been much cooler, I'd have been compelled to pick up the whole set.

I also think they chose the wrong expression here, the half smiling look isn't the right one for a Batman collectible IMHO.

I was thinking of getting one of these, but I don't think for $50.00 it will be worth the cash at the moment.
