181 plus shipping of 24 is pretty darn good for this, and about 100 dollars off the original retail price. Is this par for the course on non-exclusive pieces with this ES??

Having seen the Helm's Deep, FB vs Eagle, and Gandalf vs Saruman dio's all sell for under $125 apiece recently I don't think it's as good a deal as you think...it will drop lower.

Yikes really. Man why do we all get excited for these pre-orders when it seems these things drop like hotcakes in value.

i agree... with the eventual drop in prices... i would buy but not that close to retail... not meaning to brag but i got the aragorn diorama for less than $100 and in mint condition!

Man I must be wearing my rookie cap today. I assume this strategy does not apply to the exclusives? All you have to do is wait for someone to list one of these statues with a low bid and no reserve. This was the case with the auction I won so I paid a current "market price" for the item. Many list with BINs below Sideshow retail but still well above the price when the market dictates value. But of the values are so flexible and generally declining then you all just wait for the right moment to strike.

Yeah, the dios can be had for less than retail...while I love the Balrog dio, I should have waited to purchase it elsewhere to some some cash.

However, I do believe the upcoming Shades of Mordor exclusive dio bucks this trend...no way I'm giving up my preorder.

The NL shop (while it still was the NL shop) was selling the Theoden and Aragorn dios for $75 :monkey5 ; still this isn't too bad a deal.

You mean the one that is something like $400? I expect that to fall the fastest. Poor LOTR, just can't retain retail value...

Possibly, but with an ES a little more than half of the other dios and an actual exclusive worth having, this may be the exception. Guess we'll just wait and see...

I too believe the Ringwraith dio. [esp. the excl.] will buck the trend. The ES is very low, a terrific excl., and all 400 sold out in 4 1/2 minutes flat. There's not another dio. that can even remotely make that claim.....

ES is king. Forget about sell-out times. With no cancellation fees, pre-ordering is a non-issue. But I agree that this "exclusive" piece (Ringwraith dio) will hold it's value better than any of the others. The exclusive item is a significant one.
