I am trying to get some affordable ideas to decorate for halloween. I would love some ideas of where people go, what y'all get and some photos as you start decorating would also be great!

I got a table cloth and some window clings for now. I had bought something else for the wall (graveyard scene) but after opening it, realized they don't give you the graveyard part. Stupid. So I will be returning that!

The best way to find bargains is to do your shopping the day after Halloween. You find incredible deals that way.

Speaking of Halloween decorations, I found some great stuff @ Walgreens a few weeks ago. I meant to post about it, but it slipped my mind until now.

Jason and Freddy mini severed heads ($3.99):

They look great hanging on curtain rods :monkey3

Freddy door hanger is pretty coo ($19.99)l:

I didn't get it because I didn't think it was "$20 cool". I'll come back after Halloween looking for a deal though. Licensed stuff is usually gone by Halloween, but I got lucky 2 years ago when I snagged those electronic/animated Freddy, Jason, and Chucky figure things for dirt cheap.

I really like these sound/light door hanger thingies too ($9.99):

I really wanted the Freddy one. It looked great and the sound was Freddy yelling crap instead of music like the Jason and Myers one. I didn't really think the red eyes fit Jason and Myers as well as they fit Freddy. However, I had the boy with me and he really wanted Myers. So that's what I got. I think I'll go back for Freddy though.

For everyone who is buying things and sharing, could you put prices in case it's worth it for other members to head out to get them. :D Thanks Kabuki, I am always looking for awesome decorations.

Edit: called Walgreens, looks like the severed heads are $3.99.

Thanks to Kabukiman I got myself the severed heads. A few other things at Dollar tree too. I'll take pics tomorrow evening and share them. This one huge mural thing I got at dollar tree was excellent. I was shocked! I'll be heading to Walmart/target this weekend for a few more goodies.

I have more decorations I will be hanging over the next while, and more to buy. These are just a couple for now.

The beginning of the full wall mural I will be doing. I am completely fine with this being cheap paper, it adds to the house a bit. Can't wait to get another one to put beside it and then a banner for across the top.

This is my table covered with a cheap spider web table cloth and I have nowhere for now to put the freddy and jason heads, so I have them hanging on the chair...till I find a spot. And in the middle is a witch lantern. It looks great when the candle inside is lit at night.

I don't know if you guys have Dollar Stores in the States but I think I spent a total of about $10-12 for everything I needed. Lights, window skeletons, decorative pumkins, exterior pumkin light covers, etc.

Someone should steal a cadaver from the morgue, cut it open, and use it to hand out candy.

Doesnt get much better then that.

I've seen a corpse before. I didnt pass out. But I wouldnt reach my hand in there to get some candy. :lol

White bed sheets from goodwill, some fluorescent spray paint, and a blacklight can help cover up huge sections of wall if you're throwing a party. With the lights off, it really shows up and the white allows for enough reflection so it's not totally dark.

I do have a vivid memory of this one house that used to pass out candy, they would make some sort of wall with a slot in it over their front door, and the kids would have to stick their hands through it to get candy, completely unknowingly what was on the other side of the "door." If you got a treat, if was usually something good, like a full sized candy bar. If it was a trick, you'd end up putting your hand in a bowl full of artichoke hearts, or some other disgusting blind substance. It was a big hit in the neighborhood.
