Destory at SS request????

Ok I purchased the Aayla PF for the SS website, well the Lightsaber was broken .... SS has been awesome with resolving issue for me, they are sending me a replacement arm w/ lightsaber, however I was instructed by them to destroy the broken are , and send them pics of it, or I will be charged for the replacement arm, I am going to destroy the broken piece, but I thought this was weird. and was wondering if this has happen to anyone here,

Not uncommon. They have done this in the past with many limited editions figures/statues from them as well as hot toys. They want to make sure that there is no additional figures/parts of a already set edition size of a figure/statue.
I remember in the hot toys T-600 thread there were a few that had to destroy the whole figure and video tape it. Might still be on YouTube

i never had a broken piece from sideshow yet finger cross that i never will lol but my question is do you have to pay for shipping and custom tax when the send replacements

The thing they seemed to change is they used to ask me to destroy it before they send me the new one which is scary.

Now they seem to ask me to destroy it after I get the new one or I will be charged for it.

I know a guy whom had to destroy a Predator Maquette and send pics to sideshow.
I helped him and it made my skin crawl.
