Hi guys, I have a major question about Ikea Detolf Cabinets. Are they dust-free or not? I really need to know because if they are, then I'll be ordering three! Also, while your here, what are these things called (the box-like structure in which the Predator bust is sitting on?

(Thanks to Gruson for the pic)

Thank you,
CJK

Yeah, you get some weatherstripping and seal the edges up a little bit to reduce the dust.

I have a couple and love 'em. Most definitely not dust free, but you'll have to dust a lot less. Only sucky thing about them is that they don't carry much weight, so as long as you don't have any heavy or large items you should be fine.

Thanks for all of the help. I suppose that Detolfs have to be better than the one I have now. How about that structure that I mentioned later in the thread? Can anyone name those things?

Thanks,
CJK

They're not dust-free, but I've had mine for months and they have no dust in them at all that I can see (the stuff just sitting out in the room does get dusty). So I'd say they're better than nothing, certainly.

i got an ad in the paper and the detolfs are $39.99 today through monday. time to pick up another.

im thinking it is in store only since the sale price isnt showing up online. also im not sure if these ads vary by region. i got the ad for the houston location. and one final note: the ad says limit one detolf per customer so you guys need to bring a couple friends.
