I was thinking of lining the bottom of each shelf with something to hide the wires from the lights. Possibly mirror to reflect light upward. I have seen only a few examples of people using a liner fabric . Anyone care to share some pics of there shelf bottoms and what they lined them with?

I actually just use some construction paper, but mirror film is a good idea...

Mz solution was (not a detolf but you could apply it as well) a self adhesive suede fabric, you can buy it on ebay for cheap, it is mainly use for car interior decoration. Here are some pictures:

I really like that look of that

It looks even better in person. I was a bit sceptical at first about how the adhesion glue would hold up, but a year later it hasn't lost any of its strength. But to set it properly you need a help of another person because the fabric is prone to sticking to itself once the backing is removed, and it has to be glued slowly and evenly to avoid air bubbles underneath.

Very nice! :clap...gonna look into it. Would it stick to glass?

I am sure it would, adhesive is very strong and sticks to just about anything. And it will surely be easier to set it up on a glass shelf that can be taken out, I had to work it in a closed cabinet which was a pain in the a$$.
This is fabric I used, there are many on the marked but after extensive research I decided on this:

Only thing I cannot fond it cheap...each piece would only cover one shelf? 14.99 each?

That does look good but in my opinion, it defeats the purpose of having glass shelves, which is that it allows light to pass through to the next bottom shelf(s).

I have some pieces in a Billy bookshelf and while they look classy, I ended up replacing the wood shelves with custom cut glass shelves. It really made a huge difference with lighting and being able to see the bottom shelf pieces.

If you have leds above each shelf this shouldn't be a problem.

That is true, but the covered shelves will make seeing the pieces below them even more difficult. I'm referring to the lower shelves.

If the detolfs are raised, that wouldn't be as much of a problem, though.
