Did anyone get the NECA Remake mask from TRU?

It's only $20 if you find one, much cheaper than the shadow box deal that is all over the net for over 100 bucks. It's a nice mask really, resin and heavy as hell.

With some work it can be pretty damn nice too, I've seen some reworks of it that were just astounding. I picked mine up a few days ago, been working on it during commission breaks... Still working on it now, but here is an in work shot...

I sanded it down and started from scratch, basecoat up. It's been a slow process, but a fun way to take standing breaks from my chair and get some fresh air outside.

it's my first mask at this scale... so be gentle.

Yeah I found one today...had no idea TRU was carrying it. DAMN good price on it.

Yeah I got one last week from TRU. Well worth 20 bucks! I got it hanging on my wall. I couldn't help but put in on and realized the strap was already breaking. I guess I have bad luck with mask straps. But hell, for 20 bucks I may just pick up another one. My local TRU had a couple stacks of them.

Mine only had 2 of them, I wish I could have bought the other one... would have been a nice investment to rework and send out.

And for those wanting to update the straps, you can get a strap kit from Frightstuff.com for $15 and it comes with the hardware (snaps) for the mask too.

Here are some pics of mine.

I may end up reworking it eventually, mainly because I'm not 100% happy with the scuffing on the red marks. The stock paintjob is certainly well done, though. Especially for $20.

A couple years ago or hell, even last year, getting something like this commissioned would easily set you back at least a bill.

I can look for you man, but the last time I went they were entirely sold out. I'm going to MegaCon in Orlando tomorrow, I will look there just in case as well. But I am sure if they had them... they would mark up the price to insane levels.

Yeah I even checked both TRU.ca and .com. The American site has it but the Canadian site doesn't even have NECA as an option let alone the mask.

I'll order it online maybe Ebay or something. Thanks for the heads up though, a couple hours ago I didn't even know it existed.
