Episode II Obi Wan - Image Thread

For those who are waiting, a few quick snaps of the portrait. I'm definitely happier going with the Clonobi head. The beard on the AOTC figure is much like ROTS, very harsh line where the beard and cheek meet, which isn't how Ewan's beard was, especially in AOTC. Probably ok for the average collector, being a big Obi-Wan buff and really like the AOTC look, I've looked at a lot of photos, done drawings, all sorts of stuff, so I'm more attached to things being a certain way. The hair is better on the AOTC figure, there's actually a mix of highlights and darks, Clonobi's a bit one toned, and the eyes are better on AOTC. Skin tone and beard go to Clonobi though.

Thats how it would seem. Except for that one guys pics where the beard is plainly half painted on.

I'm always kinda confused by kitbashes like that. Seems like a lot of extra money for a relatively slight improvement. But I guess if you've got a cool use for the rest of clonobi...

Beard looks sloppy but overall it's good.
I wonder if SS has a HT factory do the HS/skin or whatever when they are working on a figure with them. Would explain clonobi/hobbits.

mine arrived and looks pretty good. i'm not gonna open it because i'm about to pack up and move, but from looking through the window the beard looks great as well as the entire figure.
I had put the Hasbro Clone head on it but it looked like ass
, I may go to Toy Anxiety and get a Utapau head for it.I don't think it would explain it at all. I think like typical SSC 1/6 paint jobs, it's just hit and miss sometimes. While the cast skin heads have been pretty good, they're still not at HT quality for factory apps, and surely if HT were involved they would be.
I'm thinking either the cast skin allowed the beard to be painted better, or for whatever reason, the people painting the Clonobi head were better at the beard work than the AOTC head.
The clothing for this AOTC figure is fantastic, best Jedi tunic made yet IMO.
Yeah but surely if HT was involved with the new bodies the joints wouldn't be loose on the new bodies either right? The only thing missing from the hobbits and clonobi IMO is skin texture, and maybe one or two small things and it would be almost HT quality.

Well that's my argument when people freak about the new bodies, some folks seem to think HT's actually helping to make things, I think they're just a teacher and supervisor. Here's the material we cast heads in, here's how we engineer a body, ok you're set, send it to your factory you're on your own.
The new cast heads are very close to HT quality. Eyes are the biggest spot not there. Sideshow's solid line eyelash style just doesn't work as it's done, HT handles that much better, the doll dot needs to go of course, and something about the whites on the cast flesh eyes isn't white enough, it's almost peachy so the eyes don't stand out well.
I think that's exactly what's going on.
I just wish SS would stay with that lesson. With clonobi, hobbits, and gandalf it was all good, i think doing it that way helps the whole paint job. And i'm pretty sure HT had nothing to do with GTG so.....

Looks good and I like Obi-Wan a lot but I guess I'm just an average collector so maybe thats why I like it. Shots actually might be a little dark this time Sean
