They are, heavily because of the DAMN DOLL DOT

Seriously though, this figure really woke me up to the negative impact those two dots have on the look of a figure. They make him look like a zombie sometimes.

The eyes definitely look better on the AOTC head. It's too bad you can't cut the eyes out of one and throw them on the other

No way! That figure is still one of my favorites...

....and judging from the recent set of pictures of this new AOTC version, it will be too...

Honestly, I really dislike it, it's off to Les tomorrow, I don't even have it with me, sorry. I'm very passionate about Obi-Wan and the paint job with the beard when Clonobi turned out so well is just unbearable, it looks gross to me even looking back at the shots of the head I took earlier today. It just looks like I painted the beard. This probably sounds really harsh, I was just so impressed with the beard work on Clonobi the AOTC head feels like a step backward.

Yeah i'm gonna pass on this fig, can't stand piss poor paint jobs anymore. If i wanna do an ep2 obi i'm gonna clonobi it.

Costuming is great, best SSC Jedi work along with Ki-Adi's costuming, as far as tailoring. If the paint apps had held up to the bar Clonobi set for this head, this figure would very likely rival Old Kenobi as one of the top SSC figures.

It's tricky territory when you release the same head twice. Darth Vader was improved from the paint apps on Anakin so it was well received. This time, not so much. I'm still surprised by the separat production, I would think the easier route would have been to just crank out a few thousand more heads when they did Clone Obi-Wan.

Totally, if I weren't tired from my jog tonight I'd be taking more photos but the eyes are a little blurry lol, but I think the fact that I'd take "toxic dart" shots shows my excitement. Having properly colored garbs makes such a difference. With my kitbash it was like ok, pretty much an AOTC Obi-Wan, but now, it really is an AOTC Obi-Wan, and I love it. Was watching my favorite AOTC commercial earlier. It has Accross the Stars playing in it and at one point it's the clips where Obi-Wan's going "don't do anything without first contacting myself or the council" and the mix of the music and something about the way Obi-Wan comes off in that clip, I used to watch it over and over again waiting for AOTC to hit theaters. I'm so thrilled having MY AOTC Obi-Wan now it's bringing back all the 2001-2002 excitement for me.

Hey Maulfan, I too am a HUGE Obi fan. What excatly did your final Obi Kitbash consist of? and are you going to do another one for a ROTS Obi?

Final bash is Sideshow Clone Obi-Wan head + Sideshow AOTC Obi-Wan Clothes and accessories + Hot Toys True Type body.

As far as ROTS, I might just get AOTC tunic and tabbards, leave the rest as the stock figure.

OMG! A Variant! A Error! I better sell mine on Ebay for thousands!!!! Oh Wait, these aren't Hasbro ...nevermind.

Opened mine up last nigh and have to say he looks far better in hand than the pics on here show. The moles are very faint on mine. The boots are fantastic, great sculpt and soft for ankle movement. Uniform is nice material, just needs to be futz. A great swan song figure for the buck.

Only nitpick is the lightsaber blade is too light of blue and doesn't stay in the belt holder well.
