Just for folks to see, the difference isn't like WOW blatant, but the coloration on the AOTC tunic is really good for ROTS Obi-Wan, I may try to get the tunic and tabbards loose for my ROTS figure.

Also, the robe's really nicer, and even more accurrate shade than ROTS and they stitched along the edges so no fraying.

That looks pretty good, actually...
Are the tabbards longer?

No, the tabbards end up at the same level as the tunic like the ROTS setup. At least the way I snug the clothes to the body for the right overall look.

I just got my Obi-Wan. After viewing All the pictures from the last week I was pretty much prepared for what to expect, however I was still slightly disappointed.
First is the overly bright white inner tunic. I've been searching through images of the film and it didn't seem that white to me, although the choice of fabric and the tailoring is the best of any figure I've gotten. I just with they would stop attaching the tabbards to the cummerbund giving them the grandpa pant syndrome so common with other figures they have made.
The paint seems really flat compared to the other releases. Although there is a lot more variation in the hair tones, its rather sloppily applied. The moles are really dark. The top edge of the beard at first appeared not to be painted but upon very close inspection I realized the tone was just very close to the skin color.
So I did what any customizer would do, break out the paints and do some adjusting. I used a tooth pick dipped in acetone to remove the brown paint from the moles, repainted the beard and highlighted his hair with some blond.

That's interesting because I was concerned the white wouldn't contrast against the tunic very much and I think the contrast is perfect.

A lot of shots in AOTC, the white shirt at the collar is barely poking out from beneath the tunic so you didn't notice.

One good shot of seeing the contrast is when Obi-Wan first shakes hands with Padme in her appartment.

The scene where he is chained with his hands over his head is good also. You can also see the tunic is lined with what appears to be silk. Which i believe the Hasbro figure had done. If i remember right?

I think the cloth color and materials are its strong point.

Slap a clonobi head and a TT on him and he is one of SS's best figs. :lol

There is a lining, not sure what it is, but yeah, Hasbro's AOTC Obi-Wan had that.

It's still mostly Sideshow, their head, their accessories and clothes, really just not the same head that was in the box and a different base body. It wasn't cheap but I'm ecstatic to have the SSC Ep2 Obi-Wan that I have.

Should have mine at home waiting for me. The more I see of it the more I think he'll be a very nice figure the way he is.

Cracking re-paint anzik hayes!
I am surprised no one has mentioned the typo on Obi-Wan's box:

Ooops. :lol
I wouldn't say thats the worst thing about the box...the photography is shoddy. His neck! It isnt attached properly in all the photos...and on the front cover picture, his belt is halfway down his arse!

Also, the back screenshots of the film are all preety dire.

I haven't received my AOTC Obi-Wan yet, but if someone likes the AOTC head better, I'll switch with them. I prefer the Clonobi and I never bought that figure since I don't collect EU items. PM me!

Flashback time...

Here's a look back at the Hasbro figure...

Hasbro obviously went darker with the main tunic, and the under-tunic is almost as light as the pants. And I'll give Hasbro this...while there is no shading/tones to it, the hair color seems more accurate...

Judging from the shots so far in here, Sideshow got the outfit much closer to the movie's look.

Can't wait for this figure! C'mon those who've got him....more pictures, please!

Got mine today. He looks really really good. Paint on mine is just fine. The way the hair and beard are done came out much better than shots have shown and the moles are not dark at all. Actually looking at it they look almost missed. Glad 2 have him
