Awww...now revisiting the past helps keep things in perspective when the complaining reaches a crescendo...look at that and then realize...hey, that Sideshow figure looks pretty damned good! :D

I always liked the Hasbro Ep2 Kenobi, other than the way his head had to be so high and his hair being as it is in the back, I'm glad the Clonobi head (didn't check the AOTC head) has a cut up under the hair so it can "lay" over his collars properly. Yes I'm that retentive an Obi-Wan fan :lol

Not to hate on Maulfan but really dude, I've always backed what you say and love your photos but not on this. You have been way to negative on this figure and honestly I think you have been turning people off on him. He looks great and while we have a difference of opinions, me being I look at eyes more than beards I could care less about the beard if the eyes don't look good then the likeness isn't there and because this one is such a step up above cloneobi it looks more like Ewan Mcgregor and cloneobi just looks like the mayor from the dark knight. Like I said we have different opinions but I think your negativeness (if thats even a word) has turned people off from this figure even though its great! I'll be posting a review up on youtube in a couple of hours and people can make their decision.

Hmmmm... is his opinion making someone feel insecure? :lol

I agree with every word from MaulFan about this. I don't find him a downer at all. In fact he inspired me to make my OB1 the best he can possible be. Articulated neck on a TT body with the fabulous clothing and accessories from SS. Seriously, how can he not be tripping on spotty-wan?

all Maulfan ever does is whine, same with pix, they're such chicken littles.....and full of hyperbole.

:D

Judging from this pic I'd say Sideshow got one of the moles right. The one below his eye is definitely dark in color.

Its just practically impossible to execute the right blending to make a mole not look like a speck of mud or something. I think maybe light application of nail polish remover would make it less glaring.

Thats ok. Its the fact that they made it the size of a quarter that I don't like. That and the the one on his forehead being painted.

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol Yes its the insecurity of me not being able to grow my own beard, thanks now I feel a little better that its out in the open now ;)

As the owner of over 80 SSC figures, I feel I am considered a serious fan.

However this one was a little disappointing since it was the most expensive of any standard Obi Wan figure I purchased.

Thats an interesting spin. I hadn't thought of it that way.

I have to be honest....I got him last night and the box has been sitting on the floor since, never even looked at it! I'm in no rush, and I don't know why??? For those that haven't been lazy like me, is the Kamino dart decent looking?

Yeah for the rising cost you should get more bang for your "buck". The paint apps went down, it was a rehashed head, etc.

That said, from the pictures, again, I think the AOTC costume is the most accurate of the Obiwans, even the ANH which IMO wasn't really the right material texture.

I think something really interesting like a alternate head with the starfighter headset would have sold me on the figure at a higher pricepoint, but for now I passed. If it goes down to $55 or so I might pick it up.

Good points.

An extra headsculpt with either the headset, as you mentioned, or a "wet look" hair do a la Kamino, would have helped made things more "interesting".
