Since it seems a number of people liked the result of my Attack of the Clones Obi-Wan Kitbash, figured I'd just post the recipe here for everyone.

PARTS

Sideshow ROTS Obi-Wan
-Brown Jedi robe
-Tunic
-Tabbards
-Belt

Sideshow Plo Koon
-Standard Jedi undershirt (many of us on the board removed this from the figure as it is excess)

Hasbro AOTC Obi-Wan
-Pants
-Boots

Hot Toys True Type Caucasian body

Mix all that together and you get this:

DA, that looks really , really good. You did a nice job on that, thanks for sharing the recipe. Would Mace Windu's undershirt and pants work as well?

Ya, Mace's shirt would actually be more ideal, it's more ivory, Plo's is just about the same shade as the tunic, but I don't want to take apart my Mace for this figure. Plo's shirt I'd already taken off to futz that figure to my liking anyway.

Really great bash and still blows my mind that the Hasbro boots look that good, I'm so used to them being oversized and clunky :lol

maulfan, how could i take off that head/neck from its SS neck join...??and did u use a HT neck for this obi?thx

The neck on the SIdeshow armor body is structurally identical to the HT style, there's a ball joint from the neck that pops into the base of the skull. When I removed the head from the SSC figure, it took the neck with it and it was a bit of a hastle putting the SSC neck back on the figure. So if you're going to want to swap back and forth between Clone Wars and AOTC Obi-Wan with one head, I suggest trying hard to get the head off the CW figure without removing the neck. If you can get an extra head or whatever, you just pop Obi-Wan's head onto the TrueType.

I may be adding a t-shirt to my Obi-Wan to beef up the sholders a bit. HT's TrueType really works best with thick clothed/multi-layered figures, and the Jedi tunic is quite thin.

MaulFan love the mod. I did basically the exact same thing with my Obi the moment I got him except that I gave him the ROTS clothes instead.
I am interested in the shirt mod though as that is the one thing that I want to add to Obi to create that the square shoulder look.

Great looking custom maulfan. Who needs a sideshow Episode II obi wan when you can customize one on your own :)

:wave I need one. Obi Wan is like cowbell, you can never have too much.

Exactly, plus the tunic will be the right color, the boots will be better, potentially there'll be an alternate portrait, though thankfully I've got the one I care most about already. Definitely value in SSC making their own, and I will buy it, but this kitbash will tide me over in the mean time because who knows if or when we'll get one from SSC. Given that there are no AOTC figures yet in the SSC line, I'd much rather see TPM Obi-Wan first to round out the Qui-Obi-Maul trio.

Hey, do you have to go with a True Type. I was hoping that I could pop his head onto a dragon nude and be done with it. I thought Hot Toys nudes were expensive?
Whatcha think fellas?

im using G3 BBI body for mine and its working alright, although I had to use a HT neck to secure the head on.
