I read this and was so shocked that I told everyone in the office. One of our clients was sitting there when I said it and she burst into tears... apparently she is really good friends with Robbie, his son.

Ooops.

SEE! Now if he ever came in with her or something, where's that camera? But yea this is shocking. I didn't know he was in bad health for some time though.

That is horrible news. He was a legend. His name will be forever tied to stunt riding. I didn't have any idea he was in poor health, he was always one of those guys whom I had a ton of respect for and never imagined that he would pass.

Evel was the man. It takes a lot of guts (or little brains) to do the stuff he did. My Dad grew up with Evel has his hero so he was pretty bummed to see him go.

I imagine the History Channel special of his life will play again soon now. It is a great progam if you get the chance to see it.

Bless his memory!!

Its a shame you younger guys will never know what it was like back in the 70's when TV's had 7 channels and his jumps were huge events!! There's just nothing equivalent today.

Thank you for the entertainment, and more for the stuntcycle toy with accessory packs!!

Actually the Lone Ranger was 9" and Evel was around 6 or 7 inches. But I loved my Evel Kneivel stunt cycle. There aren't people with the same kind of showmanship around any more.

Evel embodied the ordinary man as a hero, back in the day, to me. Today we have the awesome Crusty demons, but back then he more than pushed limits. Talk about an artist that suffered for his art. They broke the mold with him. You can finally rest in peace Evel.

Wow, i just read he settled a lawsuit with Kanye West a couple of days ago and now he's gone:monkey2 I wonder if he knew something?

Rest in peace, Knievel

Evel was my hero as a kid in the 70's , looking back you have to give the man credit, he made his jumps with some BIG and HEAVY motorcycles, not like todays.

RIP Evel, thanks for my childhood memories.

I saw Evil Kneivel when I was a kid do his infamous jump attempt over the Snake River Canyon. My family and I were all standing on my grandparent's roof (they lived right near the canyon) and with binoculars we were able to watch him. I'll never forget that day. RIP E.K.
