It was pretty wild. It had some moments where maybe the writers were pushing into "too much of a good thing" territory in terms of some of the ideas, but overall very solid movie. Ridiculous stuff, but still grounded enough in family stuff at the end.
Found it a bit kitchen sink-y but enjoyed it a lot anyway and quite eager to watch it again. I’m shocked to say that Ke Huy Quan (along with everyone else) is really quite terrific in it.
I loved him in it too, so glad to see him back on screen. Film was flawed but still infinitely better than most of what has come out the past couple years. Also, I and my wife want shirts of the raccoon to wear to disneyland one day.....
I thought it was ok. It leaned a bit too far into the melodrama there at the end for my tastes.
It had several interesting concepts that I wish they would have explored further and several not so interesting concepts that they went a bit overboard with.
