Hello my dear friends... I want to ask everyone a big favor... I will explain in this thread what it is about and will create another thread that I would be able to copy the link in without the painful explanation.

One of my best friends in Belgium... I call her my big sister... her daughter in law who is a sweetheart just found out on Saturday that she has leukemia. She is only 32 years old and you can imagine that we are all devestated.

Her friends created a website where you could post well wishes but it is of course in Flemish so she could not understand it.

That is why I thought of creating a thread especially for her that I could copy the link in so that she knows that she is not alone in her fight against this.

Thank you all in advance.

So sorry to hear about your friend Nes. I will mosty definitely say a prayer for her and her family.

I wish your friend all the best Nessa. My prayers goes to your friend and her family.

Hello dear friends,

Just wanted to let you know that all your well wishes are with a special link on Leslie's site. I don't know if Dave can merge the other well wishes thread together with this one or vice versa because there were other people that also posted in that other thread.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Update...

I could use some prayers for my best friends daughter in law too please. As I told here before Leslie found out a few months ago that she has Leukemia. After three very heavy chemo treatments she is now in the hospital again with her last treatment and she had a bone marrow transplant. First we were all excited that they found this woman in Germany that was actually a perfect match so that she could have the transplant. So days before the transplant she got the heaviest chemo she could get, then one day rest and then the bone marrow transplant. Everything went fine up to two days ago.

Her liver and her kidneys just shut down. She now is on a kidney dialysis machine and tons of other stuff because the water just retains in her body. If her liver does not start working soon she will poison herself. Because of the liver not working she does not know what she is doing anymore and she ripped the catheder out of her arm and now her blood is too thin so they cannot put another one in until they can thicken her blood. I just found out that they tied her up so that she cannot pull things out anymore. She has a 24/24 hour nurse with her. If her liver does not start working soon, other organs can shut down. If her blood does not thicken, she can get internal bleedings. It is a very scary situation. So please any prayers are welcome. I am burning candles like crazy, but the doctors do not seem to be able to do much anymore.

I too will say a prayer and light a candle for your friends. So sorry to hear this sad news. :(

Wouldn't this old world be better,
If the folks we meet would say,
'I know something good about you',
And then treat us just that way.

Wouldn't it be fine and dandy,
If each handclasp warm and true,
Carried with it this assurance,
'I know something good about you'.

Wouldn't things here be more pleasant,
If the good that's in all,
Were the only things about us,
That folks bothered to recall.

Wouldn't life be lots more happy,
If we'd praise the good we see,
For there's such a lot of goodness,
In the worst of you and me.

Wouldn't it be nice to practice,
This fine way of thinking too--
'You know something good about me,
I know something good about you!'

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. Conny (my best friend and so called sister) told me this morning that Leslie now is in a liver coma and she is dying. She will not make the end of the week. :monkey2 Life is so unfair. She is way too young to leave us now. Just like my brothers best friend who also passed away at 31 years old also from leukemia. :monkey2

I am just beyond words right now. :monkey2

Life is a chaotic mess that isn't fair or unfair. Sorry to hear about your friend. I'm sure her life was blessed by having friends like you.

You are indeed a good friend to her Nessasita.

This is a tough time, but her having been a part of your life will never go away. That is her gift to you. Your sharing this is your, and her, gift to us.
Thank you for that. We are all enriched in the knowing.

My thoughts go out to your friend and her family.

Oh Nessa,
So sorry to hear the bead news. you and your friends will defo be in my thoughts and prayers. I will be thinking of you all.

Update and...

thank you for your prayers. I could not sleep all night because I was so worried and with the time difference with Europe I went to her website this morning and in the guest book I read from her work colleagues that Leslie has lost her battle against Leukemia today. She made it through the night but then she finally had to let go and become a special angel. I cannot stop crying here. This is so sad. I have included a picture of this beautiful girl that had to leave us too soon. I guess for her it was the best because living in so much pain is no way to keep on living. For the people who loved her so much and are left behind it really is hard. But we cannot be selfish... I am sure there must have been a reason for her to be going to Heaven so soon. But I must admit... it is something my mind cannot comprehend. She will be missed.
