Final Fantasy VII Sephiroth Figure Customizing Question

I ordered the 2nd series of Play Arts figures based on the game designs and when the Sephiroth arrived, his sword was all screwed up. I managed to clear off must of the excess plastic and softly sand down the scratches, but that means I have to repaint the entire blade. I tried silver, but it really didn't look right. Any suggestions? It looked blackish silver, but I never could mix the too well enough to match. Any help on a color and type of paint would be appreciated.

Bardoon, I am tempted to be rude, but that will not help, so I will bite my tongue. Do a little research and you will see the issues in question were taken care of. I am not going anywhere. You don't want to deal with me, so be it. But no need to attack me for no reason.

Back on topic. Found some metallic Gun Metal Gray paint at a craft store today. Going to give it a try in the near future. Any tips for getting a smooth, stroke free paint job?
