1/4 PF scale custom sidebags

This has been an accessory I have been wanting to do for some time... like the belts and holsters on the PF sets, the sidebags just really were lacking... especially in shape... they just have such a floppy loose look to them.. unlike the actual British respirator bags that have some rigidity to them... now this is a rough first copy... still need some tweaks here and there... plus you have to give me credit as this is my first time really trying to drive a sewing machine... gulp :slap

The backs will have the correct stitch pattern as well..

And of course real leather straps and metal buckles.... now... I will NOT be doing open orders for these... sewing takes me FOREVER.. I just do not have the hang of it... and I will keep my long standing promise of never having an order sit for over two weeks from payment to shipping... so those interested in bags just watch the for sale page.. I will sell these as I make them.. first come first served...

Excellent work Mike, you are quite the craftsman :bow

Re: 1/4 PF scale custom sidebags

Looks great, are you fitting them with the side disks and vents too?

Re: 1/4 PF scale custom sidebags

You will have to remove the disc from your bag add tack it in place.. but yes.. there will be real metal vents..

FInally.. I think I have reached a point where I can comfortably make PF scale sidebags on the sewing machine... this is my latest one... the texture of the material worked out great as it holds that crinkly, worn look just like the real british respirator bags... initially I was going to sew in the extra details on the backside.. (the real ones have two seams you can see on the rear of the bag) but realistically why bother ? you will never see it and it is just a pain to sew those in anyway... These will obviously feature real leather straps with a metal buckle.. depending on which PF you want it for.. Raiders is a medium brown, TOD is a dark brown and the KOTCS bag has a black strap... I did add the drain holes to the bottom.. you will only have to snip the disc off the side of your existing sidebag and tac it in place on this one...

As I stated before, due to time constraints I will not take open orders on these.. I will make a few as I have time then post them up for immediate first come first served sale.. so there will not be any wait time when they get posted for sale... I would be afraid to take orders, and take money because it is not realistic for me to keep my two week turn around promise with these... even though I have figured out the process.. sewing is still not my forte... maybe in time after I crank a few out I can take open orders ...

Those look great. I think I would get one for my raiders first, but getting it on, can we pull the jacket down enough to get it off the one arm?

Just brilliant, Mike! look forward to snatching one up once you say the word. Perfect scaled canvas material!

I will make the Raiders version with one end of the strap unattached so you can run it up under the jacket then tac it in place to avoid trying to remove the jacket from the statue..

I'd love one of these also! My Indy PF is my favorite piece and the bag has always bothered me a wee bit. I'll be lookin' out for one in the classifieds!

Spent the morning building a few of these... about to throw two of them out in the classifieds... depending on how much time I can spend in the workshop I may do a few more today and tomorrow..

Hey Mike,
These look fantastic. Could you post a pic of the bag on a PF Indy?
