I finally found something to do with my original mark iii.I still have some work to do but I am going to add the mech test gauntlet on the arm and find better chains and hooks,[I'm using the dx joker chains now]I plan on using the mech test iron man diaroma and figure to finish it.

nice man, i was thinking of doing this, but i spent 175 back in the day and still like this figure lol

The good thing is I didn't sacrifice anything,it took a while to figure out how to take it apart but it can easily go back together.I can't put it on the shelf with the battle damaged mark ii and the new iron man ii figures,it just looks inferior.but at least now it will just be an expensive accessory

lol what a terrible idea.

"LOL"....actually the terrible idea was when your parents decided to reproduce.

For someone who has more than one Iron Man, and is competent enough mechanically, this is a great idea.

See the difference between a great idea and a terrible one?

The great idea ends with an awesome display, and the terrible idea ended with you. BIG DIFFERENCE

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Thank you,the figure was collecting dust in my closet.it looked horrible next to the battle damaged mark iii and the ones from iron man 2 so I thought I can either have a outdated figure that i won't display and sits in a closet or I can make a really cool accesory and finally enjoy this figure as much as I did when I first got it.it will also add a new look to my mech test figure so I will enjoy him more.and if I get tired of it I can just put him back together and have them both again.I think its a win win.

Been thinking of doing this for a while myself, especially since I know HT will be coming out with a Mark III 2.0. It's either that or a battle-damaged version, which I have been contemplating for a long while, just haven't gotten around to it yet. But good work so far, show the result when you're done.

Great idea steven! really look forward to the final result and hopefully some clearer shots. You should really start making your pics with daylight. :lol :duff
I can see where you are comming from. The original MK III is really the least impressive of the figures. Even MK III BD looks kind of outdated next to the new MK II. So this is a great recycling. Maybe I should do the same with my Silk Spectre. :lol

Really makes me regret getting rid of mine because I thought it was obsolete. :monkey2
