Hey guys,

My very first HT Predator arrived this morning. It is a battle damaged P2. I couldn't resist it for the price I got it for, and I thought it could nicely compliment the exclusive Wolf I have on preorder. I had some questions because it is my first one.

First, can I assemble this thing and later put it back in the box without ruining it? I noticed some assembly parts that look like screws and stuff, and I wanted to make sure it could be disassembled without ruining it or breaking anything.

Also, is there anything I should look for when assembling it? I remember threads saying things could break easily (legs?), and I was wondering if someone could give me some specific pointer. It looks pretty easy though, so maybe I'm overanalyzing it.

Finally, I noticed on the second tray of packaging for accessories, right behind where the head sits on the first tray, there is an empty spot that looks like it should be holding something. Is that just where the exclusive helmet would have been? Or should something else have been there?

Thanks!

Its easy man, and why would you wanna take it apart? Trust me, once you see it on display you are gonna want to keep it!!!

All I'd say is if any legs, arms or the head are proving troublesome to attach - don't force them. Dip either the connector or the socket into boiling water. If you force them you're guaranteed to break something. Pretty much something always breaks during assembly but its usually just an accessory that can be glued.

Take your time. I had a bit of trouble with the arms. I used a hair dryer to warm the pegs and that helped. But taking your time is the best bet.

Hey, just got my BD P2 as well (first Hot Toys figure! :rock ), and I think I can help you with this. :)

1: Yup, very easy to take apart, just look out with with the armpegs and the beltpiece, those might break off, snap, or something nasty like that.

2: Like a-dev said, don't force the armpegs! Hot water is said to work well, but I used a hairdryer to warm up the plastic and try and put the arms on. Take your time, and when it doesn't work, heat it again until it snaps right in place. Be carefull not too heat it too much though, there's always the possiblity the paint might warp, so don't overdo it!

3: If I remember correctly, that's where the necklace goes, but I could be remembering wrongly.

Hope that helps!

Hmm. I have the necklace. Would you mind checking out these pics to let me know if it looks like everything is there?

See how the necklace is below the empty spot? I still think it is where the exclusive helmet would have gone. Can anyone confirm this?

Hrrmmn...No clue man, might just be an empty spot. And the exclusive only comes with the battle damaged mask, not the regular one, so it wouldn't be located there.

As far as I remember, the exclusive mask sort of hang in the trays, there wasn't a new spot for it.

Things to really be careful of:

1) Potentially one of the arms will give you a hell of a time to snap in. Probably the left one. Try it once with some force and if it doesn't bulge in, heat it and the socket with a hair dryer, then apply some vaseline on the connector of the lower arm. No, seriously.

2) Learn how to use the stand. The metallic rod can actually [and MUST] be dislodged from the black tube, widened around the Pred's torso and then slide it back in to the point it goes.

3) Careful with the knee armour. I accidentally cut off one of the straps on mine and had to glue it in place. Maximum exposure to a hairdryer is also the key for the shin armour attachment.

4) Hope that yours can stand on it's own, doesn't have floppy arms that can't support the weapons and is generally QC defects free.

Enjoy

Speaking of floppy arms my P2 BD right is quite floppy and now it's struggling to hold it's spear up. I s there anything I can do? Perhaps stuff some blue-tack or something?

For the price I paid I think that the figure shouldn't be that delicate (the plastic is very brittle unlike toy figures where they have much more 'give' for the obvious reasons).

With the talk of things breaking, I'm considering just keeping it in the box, as most of my 1/6 stuff is in boxes.

What's the point keeping it in the box!?

Life is too short - assemble it and display it. It's not a good idea to be so protective of materialistic goods.

I've got that on at least 2 different predators. I think it's just a recess in the lower tray to allow for the room of the head.

And CRAP! That's a lot of awesome gear!

In about 2-3 months, when moving to the new house where I'll have a display place for my stuff, I have to assemble mine. Hope everything will go fine with assembling it :)

Never realized how lucky I was that the left arm [and not the right one] is loose on mine until I read your post. Due to the way the shoulder assembly is executed I don't think there's anything to be done. And the swivel just above the elbow, well, that's also impossible to fix due to the type of the joint\articulation.

Whilst I do agree that the figure is impossibly cool, it's also nigh-on impossible to get decent poses because some joints are loose, others [the ankles] don't have the range they should have and so on. I'm not talking about extreme stuff, but the most basic of posing just can't be done.
