Call Tom Hanks. He'll straighten them out.

Wouldn't you know it, I did.

He said he knows of no country named "Croatia", just of some place named "Cricosia" that he and Steven invented for that misbegotten Terminal movie.

Something like that happened to someone who was getting the MR Falcon, really retarded to lose something that big. Someone else had some Sideshow stuff that ended up having the same tracking number as someone else's package which screwed up everything.

UPS lost my Weta V-REX vs. KONG (the big one) for more than 2 weeks ,with no more explication than : these things happens sometimes , it surely has been send to a wrong place ,you have to wait for it to come back...
you should have seen the box when it was delivered it couldn't have been worst if some elephants had play soccer with it ,even the polystyrene corners that hold the inner box were like powder.
However don't worry too much Evilface,The statue itself was safe !
(this foam protections are really great , it's the best invention ever just after the beer...)
I think there's no delivery company with wich you can be sure this will never happen, I had this experiment with UPS so I'm inclined to prefer FedEx , you just the opposite...

Well they found it, in Hartford CT, just a we bit past Oklahoma. "Should" be here thurs.

Maybe it will come back posessed like in Event Horizon.

That's really good news and I'm relieved for you! I have had that happen multiple times with FedEx and it's never any fun. (And they haven't always been able to relocate them.) It really stinks when something gets delayed or lost, especially at first when you don't know if it will turn up again.

I got "lucky" with one delivery--they sent it to the wrong city and actually had somebody SIGN FOR IT. With a non-matching name, address, city or zip code and they had somebody sign for it. When I called they were able to investigate and somehow track it down, pick it back up from the (dishonest) recipient and reroute it back to me. But I was not happy.

Hope yours arrivews Thursday with no further problems.

Strange how similar our experiences are. I live in Southern California, about two hours away from Sideshow, but I got my shipping notice last week. Got Jabba Saturday (AMAZING) but the thrown was also supposed to show. kept checking tracking through the weekend and monday, and nothing changed.

Finally this morning I see they shipped the gorram thing to Oregon! now why would they do that? 40 pound box that has to take up a lot of room, and they ship it to Oregon? It's on its way to me for a Thursday delivery....very very strange.

here's another little fun tidbit: when I was working on the Anakin and Obi-wan statues, I had to have sideshow send me out a base to fit the figures on...well, fed ex delivered the base overnight....to a house about a mile down my street. it took me a couple of days to realize it wasn't coming, and then we realized someone other than me had signed for it....thankfully i retrieved it from the folks who had signed for it. weird....

shipping stuff is scary

Well, I strive to be an honest person, but if Sideshow ever makes a mistake and accidentally ships a work in progress to my house, nobody is going to be home when they come back to retrieve it...

Don't get me started on the that movie. I spent like a week on the set and four days before they started filming to set up a fingerprint system. They had all there crazy requests and I did what I could, then they said they needed me onsite for when they were going to use it. They paid us nothing and after 4 days I finally said here this is how it works call me when your done with it and I will come pick it up. Did it make the movie NO. Did they ever use it NO. What a waste of time and god is Tom and Steven stuck up a-holes.

Well, I worked on a few movie sets in my days, and it's more like organised chaos, in which tiny details like this fingerprinting system probably just get lost in the shuffle. I've interviewed Spielberg and Hanks at the Terminal premiere in Venice, and Steven was pretty awed by the size and scope of that set -- even HE, with his career. And neither of them struck me as a particularly stuck-up guy, even though they're moguls and all.

I'm still sorry you had that experience! Yep, it happens all too often in the movie biz.

I didn't get to goto the big full blown airport set they built but I heard a lot about it. I know it was huge and took up some huge old hangar at the boing plant in lancaster. I don't know they were both just kinda a-holes to everyone, maybe having a bad day. My buddy does some work for Steven and he says he is really cool.

I have ended up on a few other sets for work and most the time its been pretty easy going just that one was a huge cluster.

That was a pretty lousy project for both of them. Good intentions, but you don't have to be from a transitional European country to see how it just didn't add up as a movie.

Maybe they were both just aware of it, eh?

When I heard about the story I was that the dumbest thing I have ever heard, then they said it really happened to a guy in France. I was like wow that really crazy and changed my whole outlook on it. It was a kinda cool story since it happened but the movie just BLEW.
