Hi All!

This Commerce Rules discourage scalping, yet I keep seeing sellers selling items way above the going rates on ebay, or Amazon and blatantly ripping people off!
But what bothers me even more is seeing members buying these items, and I do know for a fact that they have an active ebay account and could have not been RIPPED OFF!

So guys, PLEASE - CHECK AROUND, LOOK AT PRICES, DO NOT ALLOW OTHERS TO RIP YOU OFF!

Even right now, I see items for sale, where the sellers state that the price is "..Firm!..", and ask for shipping on top, plus for you to pay SELLER fees! A simple search on ebay yielded at least 5-6 similar items, for !!!1/3!!! less, including shipping, and no fees for you!

Again, fellow boardies - Don't get ripped off, don't support scalping, just check before you buy!!!

So basically you're saying, "don't be stupid, stupid."

No. Some people ( including myself at times ) get excited about a sale, get carried away, maybe afraid to loose the sale, and don't check.

If you, or anyone else doesn't like what I've said, then it's very easy - just ignore it. It bothered me seeing fellow boardies getting ripped off ( and they did! ), so I've posted it, that's all.

People can ask however much they want for something they own.

People can also spend their money however they want.

:dunno

I think most here are savvy enough to know a good deal or a ripoff when they see one. Stuff gets bumped tons of times even at good prices, so I think the people that charge outrageous prices should have a pretty hard time selling their stuff here as well.

Who cares if someone wants lots for an item, that is fine. If you think it is over priced then don't buy it simple as that.

If someone buys an over priced item it is not getting ripped off, it's just you are stupid to pay too much for it. Do your research it only takes a couple hours then you know if it is over priced or not.

It's not a matter of liking or not liking what you said.

You're not being ripped off if someone lists a price for something they're selling and you pay it. You're being foolish if you pay someone's price without bothering to do simple research on the internetz to see what the going price for something is.

Unless I'm missing something. :dunno

How are they "ripping people off" if nobody's buying at the high price they're asking? :dunno :lol

If people want to charge outrageous prices, high or low, let them do it. People can charge whatever they want and if the buyer is too irresponsible to do 5 minutes of homework, that is their fault.

The thing that is bothering me more are the few members who troll the WTS thread 24/7 to buy deals on the low just to turn around and list it for much more on their eBay accounts or their own WTS thread. There is one member in particular who does this a lot and even has the balls to send people lowball offers just so he can flip the item for more...just shady imho.

Caveat Emptor. If someone is asking like 300 bucks for a DX Indy on this thread and someone buys it then it's the poor schmo who bought who is responsible not the seller.

^That would p!$$ me off. I don't know if anyone I've sold to has done that, I hope not. I hope they bought out of genuine interest in the figure.
