The story, from The Men Who Stare At Goats’ Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan, finds Domhnall Gleeson as Jon, who joins a band led by the eccentric Frank. Loosely based on comedian and musician Chris Sievey (with influences from Daniel Johnston and Captain Beefheart), Frank tells the story of a group who want to make some truly new music, and go about it in very strange ways. Oh, and there’s the fact that Frank himself (played by Michael Fassbender) refuses to ever take his giant papier-mâché head off. When the group is offered a gig at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, a road trip begins that starts to show the cracks in both the various friendships and, at one point, the head…
