you wish Sideshow could secure.

Surely many of you out there are movie buffs and follow movies in production and pre-production. Im one of them.
Many times I've seen a movie announced that I'd love to have SS quality product of. So Im bored right now and just thought I'd start a thread dedicated to UPCOMING movie's you think theres some slim chance SS still has time to realistically secure and distribute.

here are my first few ...

Pan's Labyrinth / Hellboy 2 - come on SS, we know youre in good with Guillermo. Just distribute the movie maquettes for all I care. no new sculpting needed.

Transformers - sorry, Im an old-school Transformers NUT and I'd love to see this movie kick major arse. With Spielberg & Bay both working closely with this movie, I still have hope it won't be total crap. And I'd love to see some SS products. but only if the designs are very close to the originals.
latest article

Sin City 2 - TBH there was a lot of bad acting in the first (Madsen youre one of my favs, what the hell happened!?) All the recent rumors indicate A.Jolie is up for the lead. I can't wait

what are yours?

SS should approach Kevin Smith. He'd probably go for it. I'd buy Jay, Silent Bob, the angels from Dogma etc...

And to start another war:
Napoleon Dynamite
C'mon who doesn't want an Uncle Rico with his tupperware? Or a bald Pedro with wig accessory? Or a Summer in spandex outfit? (okay, maybe not Haylie Duff)

*ducks and runs for cover*

Classic (including Tombstone!) Western Film stars 1/4.

And also a Cool Hand Luke 1/4 maybe sitting on his bunk with his guitar.

There are probably lots of people out there who would like a naked Hellboy maquette to go with their Beast...

Tom we already have one

1. Jurrasic Park- T-rex and raptor maquettes. Maybe PF Grant and Malcolm figures.

2. Underworld-only for a PF Selene.

3. Kill Bill-only for the The Bride in PF.

My list can go on and on with Braveheart, Conan the Barbarian, Stargate, Indiana Jones, Fight club, Serenity...

clarity ... such a tough beast to tame :acme

a striped Conan would be awesome

I think this thread is about movies that have yet to show in theaters.
a few of the top of my head; Spider Man 3, X men 3 (12" figures) and if it ever goes into full production, John Carter of Mars.
All as 1/6 figures of course.

Right, I think the intent of the thread was UPCOMING films. I loved John Carter of Mars as a kid and would love to see this as the next big fantasy franchise, but with Harry Knowles producing I don't have a lot of hope for it.

After what happened with Van Helsing I don't see Sideshow going for any more untried licenses, but there are always new films that might be cool for product, although not much that is a possibility for SSC.

Some prop replicas from DaVinci Code maybe?

Also MI:3, Nacho Libre...Tenacious D anyone?

The big one: Indiana Jones 4. Imagine what SS could do with that license. That's if they get around to actually making the movie.

I'm really looking forward to A Scanner Darkly. Philip K. Dick wrote some weird wild stuff. The trailer for the movie looks really good.

The D would fit in REAL nice with the new rock line.....They have a movie coming out and a killer exclusive would be a viking themed version of Jack from the "Wonder-Boy" video...you know you want it....

Who doesn't want SSC to do Indy? Anyone....nope....!!!! I say they get on it now and pratice with some earlier versions of Indy just so that when the 4th one comes out they will have a line to shoehorn him into....

A Scanner Darkly does look cool, but how will it's unique visual design translate to 3D? It would be interesting to see them try it, if for no other reason to see if they can pull it off.

12 inch lines:

Pirates of the Caribbean - Will be a trilogy, and there are so many good characters that would be neat to have in 12 inch form. I love Jack, but I would really love an Elizabeth and a Norrington, and I'm sure there will be characters worth owning from the two sequels as well. But it doesn't look like that will ever happen.

Harry Potter - So much HP merchandise, but no real line of 12 inch figures excluding the few mattel ones of the trio. There are so many more characters than just the trio. The possiblity is endless with this one and since SS has Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, you'd think they would be interesting in aquiring this.

Pirates will be tricky because of Zizzle and the unknown status of Master Repilca's agreements with Disney and Medicom. However, I agree with you there are so many great characters that need figures from these films....past and future.

Again, I agree with you about Harry Potter. I defy anyone to name a single HP figure that looks anything like the character in the movie in any scale....go ahead and try. This line of books/movies is so popular that it is a shame that the toy license has been so botched and bungled.....oh well....
