Masaru Katou
The idea for this design comes from Gantz episode 251 "Single-Minded Man". It has been captured in approximately 1:5 scale.
This artwork is dynamic and powerful. The fantastic imagery is just like we see it in the manga. After a seven-month prototyping process, many details are being depicted in this model, especially the muscles of Katou's body. In order to give it a more realistic effect, we used a different color to represent the bodysuit by adding purple and cobalt blue on the skin-tight black suit. You can feel the liquid is contained in the cap of Katou's suit.
Each piece is individually hand-painted and finished by our skilled artisans having over 10 years experience. To create realistic facial expressions, we take extra care on the eyes. You will be surprised at the paint application. We also added some alien's body fluids on the concrete-painted base. All those details make the whole diorama lifelike. You can enjoy this statue from all sides.
In order to provide high-quality polystone statues, our artisans devote a lot of time to carefully craft every item in our studio, instead of mass producing them in a factory. We will send work-in-progress pictures once per month to people who pre-order this product. The detail of the sculpt makes it feel authentic. "KATOU" is a perfect addition to your collection.
