Gene Hackman as the greatest criminal mind of our time, Lex Luthor!

Since Hot Toys has announced that they are releasing the long dreamed about Christopher Reeve Superman this winter, I was thinking about a Lex Luthor to join him on my self, and as I really doubt that Hot Toys will give us one I figured I'd have to do it myself. The costume wouldn't be a problem. TTL makes a pin stripe suit that would work for his outfit in Superman II -- with a different tie and addition of handkerchief. So all I need is a head. I've seen the Spenser head but I'm thinking I want maybe a bald head -- like the thoughtful look of Picture 1 -- or maybe a head with more ironic joyful abuse of power -- Picture 2 -- maybe gloating even -- like Picture 3 but without the cigar. (The bullying sneer of Spenser's sculpt doesn't really do it for me.) Does a Gene Hackman Luthor head like that exist?

There is a rumor Mattel will be doing on for their superman line. They hinted at the fact by displaying one of luthors wigs next to their Christopher Reeves superman at comic con.

The 1978 suit is too cartoony for me. I'm thinking this one is just about right for Superman II...

I have that suit and I really dont like it. Go for a Sat Toys suit. Same price + body that would suit him nicely from my view.

Not really a rumor, it was listed as coming on the promotional card next to their Superman figure along with a Zod re-release.

Wow, for a Mattel figure, that Superman is actually quite good! I wonder how much better the Hot Toys is going to be in comparison to the sure-to-be-substantial price difference...

I hope they've reconsidered that white-plastic flight stand clip. Clear plastic would be the obvious better choice.

I wouldn't rule Mattel out on the Hackman sculpt yet. Zod was pretty decent and their Reeve is actually quite nice looking. HT will blow it away no doubt but these have all looked a lot better than GB sculpts.
