So I was just browsing the web today and came across something that I had not heard about before now. Pretty much what google uses it for is to:
Google takes a snapshot of each page it examines and caches (stores) that version as a back-up. The cached version is what Google uses to judge if a page is a good match for your query.

NOW, if you're bothered that your favorite site is blocked at work or anywhere else go to google and type in the search bar:

cache:www.website.com ---> hit enter and BOOM, the blocked site is not unblocked using the google cache.

Pure AWESOMENESS !!!!! I love google.

good find man. google is the shat, i'll agree with you there.

Does this mean I will be able to get on the board at work again?!?!?!?!

Man I hope so, I hate having to work while I am at work.

Google Cache pulls up the page from the last day I believe and tricks work filters but dependent on how zealous your work filters are the more you navigate then it picks it back up. The students at my school have MySpace block and have been using this trick for ages to circumvent it....

Your lucky that they have simple filters if this works. I use to work for a company that made filters and this would have got caught in seconds. This is no different then the trick of using anonymous web surfing sites which was easy to block too.

did you know that people who are able to surf on the web during working hours deliver better work and are more motovated ?

If not, tell it to your boss !

Dude I don't work there anymore and sorry filter are good thing, trust me. I was doing some testing back then for 3 very large companies each had over 50MB of web traffic a second, one had just under 100MB/sec and you should have seen how much stuff they were going to at work:horror. I remember that the first day they turned on the filter and only filtering just a few categories it dropped about 50-60%. Most of the companies decided to add time based filters, which took someone a insane amount of time since it based on the username. They set it up so they could browse more sites during lunch but some sites would still be blocked. I can't imagine how many block hits would come up now for some of those companies if they blocked sports now.
