I liked Galaxy Quest. Thought it was a fun movie but I don't know about the top 25. Although I'd sooner take off Futurama than Galaxy Quest.

No love for Predator?

The list had two Star Trek movies, so I guess we know where their heart is...

What do you guys think?

Lost is considered Sci-Fi?

i think Twelve Monkeys should be on the list. it's one of the best time travel movies.

the clone wars cartoon is star wars, so it was on there in some form.

Looks good to me minus Heroes, though I'd rearrange to order a bit.

As for Star Wars, even if it was made in the past 25 years, I'd argue that it is more fantasy than Sci-Fi.

These type of lists are always subjective. I personally agree with much of it but in different order and without Spotless mind and the overrated Children of Men.
I'd also throw in some Anime since Cartoons are included, I'd replace Firefly with Cowboy Bebop and include Ghost In The Shell and Akira.

Not having the Star Wars saga on that list is like having a list of the top ten greatest menu item at Burger King and not listing the Whopper.

And having Enternal Sunshine and Lost and Heroes on the list is like having Nachoes Bell Grande, Big Mac, and the DQ Blizzard on the top ten menu items at Burger King.

Hmm.... now I'm hungry.

I have to say, while Futurama has it's moments, it doesn't belong anywhere on that list, especially amongst some of the other, deserving pieces and on top of the fact that many other cool moments, such as Predator, were absent from the list entirely.

the list is composed of stuff from the last 25 years. "a new hope" and "empire" would not qualify. and i doubt anyone would say "Jedi" and the 3 new films are some of the best sci-fi since 1982. blame ewoks and jar jar for that.

SW ain't sci-fi. It's fantasy. Just because they fly around in space doesn't make it so. But putting the Clone Wars in there makes it even more puzzling.

Anyway, someone gets paid to write up this crap.

V: the miniseries, Total Recal, Starship Troopers, Quantum Leap, the Thing, E.T. -- all better than Ep. 1,2,3,6?? Cone Wars better than Ep. 1,2,3,6??

HELL YES, THANK YOU!

Pirates, Wizards, Knights, Bounty Hunters. That aint Sci Fi sirs and mams, that's a fantasy film.

Galaxy Quest owned, eat one!:lol

What about the yearly Tree House of Horror episodes? Alot of those I think qualify as Sci-Fi just as much as Futurama.

SW is Sci-Fi/Fantasy folks. If you need a reason, I'll give you several. Lightsabers, X-wings, TIE fighters, and a little thing called THE DEATH STAR. You can't get any more sci-fi than that. (shakes head in disbelief)...

But if you had to make the call Sci Fi or Fantasy, story wise it has more in common with fantasy. So I keep it simple, Death Star = Evil Wizards Castle, X-Wing = Horse, Falcon = Pirate Ship, Lightsabers = Swords (duh on my part for saying it) SciFi is a style of story telling too, not just a bunch of space ships and lasers, that hardly constitutes sci fi. Sci Fi in a story sense is supposed to (traditionally) take a look at society as a whole, not just mans journey, and make a social comment on it, usually dark, by means of using unfamiliar beings/technology that represent more familiar things or ourselves in an over the top way.

But yeah, SciFi/Fantasy is the proper term I suppose, just too much to say for me.:D
