My Grey Hulk has to go back for a replacement. :monkey2 FedEx was actually kind enough to put a sticker on the box saying it had been damaged in transit. The only obvious damage (other than rough handling due to the box size) was a half dollar size hole in the shipping box that also penetrated the display box. Upon inspection, it was pretty obvious that the box had been dropped at least once. The Styrofoam had a lot of stress damage; broken pieces, cracks, etc. The base had some missing chips along the front edge and several paint scuffs. The Hulk (being the Hulk) survived without and chips or cracks, but did have several paint scuffs as well, especially along the brow ridge.

I was all set to display him... now another 2 to 3 weeks at the minimum. :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

That sucks! :monkey2

I really hate it when I open a statue. I'm excited about get him out and putting him on display but also dreading seeing something wrong. The sending back and waiting for a replacment is too long!

I had this with my 1/4 Vader.

Good luck! :chew

Yeah, I've had a run of back luck lately with having to return things. It took two returns to finally get a London After Midnight SSE I was satisfied with. I don't fret about it too much, since Sideshow will replace it, but like you said, you get all excited about a piece, only to have to box it back up and wait some more! :monkey4

Sorry to hear that Lonnie. Like your package mine was delayed during the freeze here in Texas and was held back in Fort Worth. I sat like a hermit crab inside my warm apartment rechecking the tracking number like 5 times daily. :lol This reminds me when I was excited about my Lurtz PF and I had to send it back when I discovered the base was chipped. Hang in there bro, the Hulk will be home again soon.

Thanks Danny! Yeah, I was a little worried anyway because of it having to travel across the country right during the big winter storm! I too checked everyday after he got stuck in Fort Worth! Sideshow accidentally shipped him to my home instead of the office, but Jennifer had him rerouted for me, so when I got a delivery notice at home I got all worried again, but then they finally redirected him on the second attempt. I guess the law of averages caught up to him before he finally arrived!

damn that sux.
what a literal HUGE pain.

what was wrong with the LAM's you got?

The shoulders were very loose and the arms just wouldn't hold a pose. The would begin to sag almost immediately. I'm not sure if the wire inside was already broken or if it was just a bad design; I don't remember having this issue with the color one.

*waits impatiently for the Hulk to arrive, praying that he doesnt suffers the same fate as Lonnie's*

Let's hope not!!! It is a dang big box, and I can see a lot of these being dropped, pushed around, kicked... it is hard to handle! :monkey4

I'm the same way which is exactly why I don't order many statues. Too nerve racking.

Now I am pondering if the box is just as big as the box that Dark Lord Sauron came in. That was a big beyatch to carry around, too.

That's bad luck!

Paint scuffs. Where did they come from? Does this mean the Hulk's brow was rubbed against something, and the paint came off, on the brow?

General question: does anyone know how this Grey Hulk (and other extremely limited items) will be replaced? There are only 179, after all. Will all damaged ones be "remade", does SSC have a reserve? Or will the damaged ones be replaced with 'left overs' (CC declines, cancellations, ...) before they are offered to wait listers? Will the damaged ones be repaired, and than send to the next collector in line?

Many a statue or PF figure has had paint scuffs from the Styrofoam packaging if it gets shuffled around inside; similar to a 12" figure that is touching the plastic will have paint rubbed off.

As for replacements, Sideshow usually has extra un-numbered pieces made during the production run just for replacements. From what I understand, under "normal" circumstances, returned pieces are usually destroyed, but I could be mistaken about that.

Dare we ask for a pic or two?! :horror

You can dare if you like!!! :rotfl

Seriously, now days, when I open a product that has a problem and I know it will be returned, I just stop and repack it then and there! So Hulky is already taped and waiting for the RMA from Sideshow.

I double dog dare you ...
