I may have considered getting it if it were on PC, but even then I would be playing DOTA 2. It does have nice art, though.

And how can Gollum possibly be a valid combatant against people with weapons and actual training? I can understand him chewing off the finger of a hobbit, but I don't think he can compete against anyone with a sword.

I was thinking the same thing. He tries to jump on and bite the Ian McKellan wizard I can only imagine the game will take extreme liberties with the relative abilities of those characters vis-a-vis their movie counterparts. Funny that the troll guy has apparently turned into Thor with his glowing hammer that he can toss all over.

Gollum will most likely be the weakest character next to say any hobbits in the game. I'm sure he will an ability or two that makes him worthy of using. One of the main baddies was the Witch King though it doesn't look like it compared to jackson's model from the movie. I'm assuming the dwarf with the glowing hammer was Gimli but could be one of the dwarfs they've used from past games.

The destruction of the ring won't play if they out Sauron into a game. I'm sure they can just get around it like usual in most fighting type games that some power weakens him enough. It's taking a bit of liberty with the story but you can toss that out the window with a fighting type game.
