And the guy even posted a photo of the entire receipt (containing traceable info) with a photo of the fake coupon.

Smart guy.

They really cant do much to the guy unless they can prove he knowingly used a fraudulent coupon. Really this is on Toys R us for not verifying the coupon. Really where was a Manager, what retailer would take such a coupon.

we got those posted at the registers so the cashier knows not to accept them. they have been up for along while now though.

Do any of you guys watch Red Eye on Fox News? There was a huge discussion a few months back, on how people have become even more stupid now days, since they feel compelled to publicize all of their sordid (and illegal) information on the Internet. The person on that link is a perfect example. I mean, seriously, what happened to the days, when people just kept things to themselves (and carried their secrets to the grave)? The dude probably would have gotten away if he didn't post that pic lol. Not, that I condone theft, of course. I'm glad that he was caught.

Don't they scan coupons to get the amount? How did he get it to work? Or why did they take it if it didn't scan?

What an idiot, good on him for trying, bound to get found out soon lol
Though I don't think I could morally do that

omg... I just googled "fake coupons" and was utterly shocked to see how many sites actually provide tutorials for making these kinds of things. Aren't there federal laws against publicizing this stuff?

Someone tried to use the free PS3 coupon today while I was leaving. The cashier laughed, and I checked the coupon to see if it was the "infamous" coupon.
