Halo 3 Beta

Anyone else here buy Crackdown just for the beta? It starts on May 16th. I bought Crackdown today and haven't even opened it. I bought it for the Halo demo only. I was lucky to find a copy that still included it.

Got crackdown on release date, Pretty much played the game to death, its an awesome game, but very simple and straight forward.......

The halo demo is gonna be great though, you check out the 7 minute video about the multiplayer for halo 3?

Definitely give Crackdown a chance while you're waiting. It's a blast to play online with a friend in co-op mode. They also just released some new content last week that adds a lot to the game.

Yeah, Crackdown is a lot more fun than just a Beta invite, and I am sure that it'll get a lot more attention when the next three weeks are up. I can't wait till they get things sorted out, but hopefully, I'll get to play some Halo 3 tomorrow night after work.

You lucky 360 users! Oh man, so tempted to get a 360. I am such a pro at Halo multiplayer online, I hunger for more, yet I am satisfied... or am I?

So close to pulling the trigger on a 360. Originally I planned on getting a Wii, but now I don't even know.

wii is an awesome side console and is a wonderful system for parties but for a main console i think you'd be dissapointed because of all the games for the 360 and eventually the ps3 but i'd say 360 without a doubt and i have been cursed with a launch system(2005) that they keep "repairing" instead of replacing but they have fixed them all for free and i'm on my 4th console..maybe 5th but still highly recommend it. you may want to wait till they come out with the one with the cooler running/quieter chip though.

"Halo 2" racked up $125 million in sales in its first 24 hours of availability when it was released in 2004. The first two "Halo" games have sold a combined 11 million units, according to Microsoft.
A counter on Bungie's site said more than 8,000 people were playing "Halo 3" on Wednesday afternoon and that more than 51,000 people had played the game in the last 24 hours.

I've only played the original Halo for maybe 1/2 and hour or so (don't know if it was 1 or 2). I've completed Doom 3 on the XBox and just finished Quake 4 on the 360. For the limited amount of time I actually played it, it doesn't seem much different than those two. I saw the Halo 3 trailer from E3 and it didn't look like the graphics were as good as Gears of War or the Call of Duty 4 trailer.

Do I really need to get Halo III on opening day? Why is it so popular? What am I missing? Help a Halo newbie out.

Yes you must get it and you must get it opening day. There is no margin for error here. But, if there is a line, don't wait; I'm not a fan of lines. If there is no line get it, if there is a line, don't get it. Halo is the new Goldeneye IMO, nothing can compare to Goldeneye, but Halo is a close second. ANd who doesn't want to play Goldeneye?
