Any of you guys collect Hasbro Spider-Man? Are the figures relatively easy to come by in stores?

I was thinking of taking advantage of BBTS's 20% off sale and ordering a set or two, but I really don't want to be stuck with a bunch of Spider-Man variations that will never get played with.

I'm specifically looking for:

Spider-Man
Green Goblin
Hobgoblin
Doc Ock
Venom

There is no Carnage in this set, correct? What's my best bet for getting a recent Carnage figure in the same scale?

Any help/guidance is really appreciated! :duff :rock

I think you're talking about the little 3 3/4 scale ones. If you are, they're pretty easy to come by. I seem them in Target all the time. They haven't made Carnage yet as far as I know, but they have been making a lot of characters in the Spider-Man and regular Marvel line, so I'm sure they'll get to him in time. I think I saw a Hobgoblin in the regular Marvel series that looked a lot better than the Spider-Man line version, though. Also there are two different Venoms. One has the tongue and one doesn't. The one without the tongue looks better, but I haven't seen him as often.

I don't really like them very much personally, but my brother collects them so I know a little bit about them. Their articulation is a little weird.

Thanks, man. I'll try hitting the stores tomorrow to see if I can find 'em that way. Didn't know about there being a general Marvel set either, I'll keep an eye out for those. :rock

The boy has been on a major Spider-Man kick and I thought I could track down his favorite characters for Christmas.

No problem man. Here's some pics I dug up for you. The regular Marvel series is called "Marvel Universe".

Tongueless Venom (looks better to me than the tongue one)

If he is a big fan of Spider-Man, I believe I also saw a Rhino figure from the Spider-Man series done in the style of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic series.

Thanks again, Ben! :duff

Those Marvel Universe ones are worlds better than the Spider-Man set. I wonder why the discrepancy...

Doesn't look like BBTS has any of 'em so tomorrow, the hunt begins.

The MU Hobgoblin and Greengoblin are peg warmers. A few weeks ago my local walmart was getting rid of them for $3

Stores were a bust for me. Looks like MU is on the way out in favor of the Spider-Man collection... :monkey2
