"A Western journalist working for a publication in Tokyo takes on one of the city's most powerful crime bosses."

The first season was pretty good, but the second season is supreme crime drama television. Well written characters, solid performances and a wonderfully gritty portrait of turn-of-the-century Tokyo.

Stars Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe.

Yeah, it deserves a 3rd season. If it is axed at least we got the key threads wrapped up tho... nothing worse than a bunch of unresolved story arcs. I thought the last episode was very satisfying, the way everything slotted together to deliver the outcome.

I saw the first episode and was underwhelmed considering this is Michael Mann and, based on the title, what you would figure to be the spiritual successor to Miami Vice. But maybe I should give it more of a chance. I've considered putting it back on when I see the ads on Max.
