Wow! If you thought Hellboy's Samaritan was massive, check out his Big Baby:

I sure hope that Sideshow gets/has the license for HB2, as this would be a GREAT collectible to produce.

Sideshow: You MUST produce this!!! :monkey5

JS :)

holy crap.
I hope SS makes a replica of this one.

I missed the Samaritan. But if they made this sucker it would change me sorrow into "Whats a Samaritan?"

EXACTLY! I too missed out on the 1:1 Sammy last time but I got the 1:4 to hold me over... This new one looks SICK! I can't wait for HB2!!! :D

I'm with you on that one....can't afford what the Samaritan is going for these days...but if I could get one of these at retail....well I would be very happy!!

a new PF would be very tempting for me.

I really didn't like the pose for the first Hellboy PF. I did, in fact, purchase it when it came out (as well as all of the 12"ers) but I've since sold it off.

But I still have the 12"ers. :monkey3:monkey3:monkey3

However, due to financial reasons, I had to sell my Nazi Kroenen. :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

I can't wait to here more about this film as it develops! :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

Great stuff. Loved the first one. Can't wait to see what SS has up their sleeves.

Still, I wish they did Ogdru Jihad statue from the last one. Who wouldn't want a giant lovecraftian space octopus statue?

I wonder if Kroenen is still making a cameo appearance in this film. I know he was originally slated to do so, but they have changed the story direction since then.

I felt the same way. While i've been a HB fanatic for the last decade, I really didn't like the way that piece looked so I had to pass...

I'm guessing the cameo is something like his helmet in the BPRD headquarters like all the other trinkets they've picked up over the years.

Kroenen makes a cameo appear in the comics in a flashback of a baddie that Hellboy confronts... but I forgot who. :monkey3:monkey3:monkey3

I figured that that flashback was what the filmed cameo was going to be, originally.

I'll play "devil's advocate" here I guess and admit that I hate that design. :monkey3

Hellboy never had a Samaritan that large in the comic book and being a huge fan of the book, I just feel that it looks too large. One of the strong points of the first HB movie was how Mignola was able to keep most of the chartacters true to their comic book counterparts. IMO the Samaritan doesn't need to be changed. If they wanted to change it why don't add the ZINCO logo to it? That would be a nice treat to the die hard fans.

As far as Kroenen goes, so far the only known evidence of Kroenen in HB2:TGA will be the appearance of his mask and swords in the trophy room. This doesn't mean that he won't appear in the movie but Mignola did confirm that there would be a trophy room scene at BPRD headquaters with tons of HB props including Kroenen's gear and props from other HB stories.

All I want for Spooktacular 2007is the official announcement that Sideshow has bagged this license!!! :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

Great link -- I was apprehensive about HBII not using David Hyde Pierce's voice for Abe, but Doug Jones' is close enough that it won't be disruptive.

I never knew about Hellboy and probably wouldn't have seen the first movie were it not for the Sideshow Freaks board, and now I'm nuts about HB. And the PF is one of my favorites, right up there with Andy's Dracula. It's a dead-on likeness of Ron Perlman, and I was glad to see the image survived Sideshow's web overhaul -- he's still there on the home page, folks!

It's my understanding that the Kroenen cameo is a rights issue with the studio that made the first film. I've yet to read an explanation of how the studio ended up with sequel rights to a character if they're letting the sequel to the whole picture go, but I guess that's show biz...the story changed direction because GDT couldn't get clearance to use the character.

thats really sux. kroenen is one of my favorie villans ever. I was looking forward to getting anything new related to Kroenen.

I love Mignola's characters & art direction.
I hope if SS does release a new round of products, they wont be afraid to explore other/odd characters. Theres a lot of HB pieces out there already.

For me, I fell in love with Hellboy back in High School. I was an aspiring comic artist and loved Mignola's style. I loved his high use of black and shadows and it inspired me in my own art. So I was naturally excited when the time came for a movie. The film was amazing and got me even more into it. So this time I'm even more pumped up to see HBII.

Nice to see that Abe has a larger part too, that character is great. :rock
