Basic ROTLA Style,

This seems to be the one figure with endless customizing going on... can someone break it down for me on what choices make the best Indy because starting off with the custom thread is too confusing to keep track...

a simple breakdown would be great!

ie.

Head:
Body:
Jacket:
Shirt:
Pants:
Holster:

etc. including all the guys offering custom shirts, jackets, holsters whips etc.. whatever is the best of the best!

Thanks!

I don't know about THE best, but I know what I'm using and I've seen what others are.

Head: SST Raiders Indy with a repaint
Body: probably a narrow shouldered truetype but I use the Soldier Story S2
Jacket: from what I've seen, sovereign studios makes the best. I use the SST Jackets on mine.
Shirt: don't know, I just use the one from sideshow
Pants: the sideshow ones are fine but I re-dyed the pants from DID William Bowman and absolutely love them.
Holster: seen some custom ones that are amazing but cannot recall who made them.. I wanna say mfisher?
Boots: I used some DID WWII boots. Leather with laces

I use paulcarson's head on a TTL body.
Jacket and shirt from Sovereign Studios. For the shirt check out this thread: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75587
Pants from Sideshow Raiders Indy.
Belt, holster and whip from mfisher.
Boots: newline miniatures

Here's how I made mine:-

Head: SSC original Indy Head repainted by Xenoviper
Body: Truetype Narrow modified so SSC hands & shoes fit
Jacket: Sovereign Studios (eBay ID foreverannoyed)
Shirt: Medicom RAH 12" Indiana Jones shirt (Although Sovereign will be making a better one soon)
Pants: SSC pants & belt
Holster: mfisher on these boards for the whip, belt and holster.
Shoes: I used the original SSC shoes because I couldn't find a pair of Newline 1930's Civilian Boots

Hope this helps :)

I might be selling a couple of my customs in the near future ... it would have almost everything listed above except the Newline 1930's Civilian Boots.

Mine have extended torsos with custom shirts, pants, longer version of the Sovereign Studio jacket (awesome).

Will make up my mind in the next couple of days here ...

Head: Sideshow collectables Raiders head with a repaint
Body: Either a hot toys narrowed shoulder body or a ttl 3.0 (Using a SS body needs quite abit of retooling)
Jacket: Sovereign Studios (Even though I don't own one, but looking for it! If anyone can sell me their's I'll be as giddy as a schoolboy)
Shirt: Relic Hunter/ Sideshow's is fine too
Pants: Either minibarbie from ebay's or the sideshow's.
Holster: mfisher
Boots: Newlines (But extremely rare)
I hope that helps

Here's mine:

Head: Sideshow head repainted by me.
Hot Toys Saizo Kirigakure narrow shoulder true type body with sculpted neck
Sovereign Studios Jacket
Gun holster, made by member ShortRound for a very, very affordable price.
Sideshow Shirt dyed the right color and a bit weathered.
Sideshow pistol belt but I changed the buckle.
Thread belt changed to the one member Mr. Fusion recommended from monkey depot (not pictured below).
Hot Toys Chainsaw killer shoes/boots
mfisher whip (on it's way, not pictured)
The rest of the stuff is Sideshow

Good Luck!

As you can see you aren't going to find a set recipe for a perfect Indy. It's all in your own percepion of the figure. I would start by getting the Sideshow Raiders Indy's head repainted, dye the sideshow shirt the correct color and switch bodies to a true type. You'll be surprised the improvement just doing those three things. Then you can start nitpicking the jacket, belts, holster, whip and etc. if you decide to.

A lot of people here have done amazing work. My Indy's are mostly "brought together" and feature many talented artists like Mike Fisher, Sean Ho, Sovereign Jackets, and Joe Strain Whips:

Your custom is the reason I started bashing an Indy Josh, that thing is brilliant.
