Just picked this up from a member here on the boards in a trade, was told it was perfect and lights worked fine..when I opened it up lights did not work at all.The original batteries were still in there and they leaked and the terminals were covered in corrosion.I replaced the batteries and the eyes flickerand sometimes do not turn on..any advice or help?

Sounds like you need to clean the terminals with sandpaper, you're not getting good contact.

Yeah I cleaned the terminal real good and that's how I got it to start working(along with changing out the batteries)but the lights flicker and don't always turn on.it looks like the battery acid leaked into the skull as I can see the corrosion a little deeper than I can clean and it doesn't look like I can take it apart. It still displays great but it's always diss appointing when you get something that isn't what you exspected.

The rubbing alcohol did clean it up a little better but it still flickers,it has to of leaked inside the head itself.has anyone tried to to take this apart that had a similar problem? Then again I think most everyone knows not to leave batteries inside for a number if years .

Even if you leave batteries inside for a longer period of time, it is good to check them from time to time (3-4 months) and always use good batteries like Energizer, Duracell or Varta and never the crappy ones some of them come with.

Try knocking it around the base it may shake the build up loose. Sorry I hoped my last suggestion would work.

was it stored in the box? If not I would think gravity would have kept most of it out. Sometimes I have to bend the tangs to get them to make contact but I haven't looked at the terminator batteries in a while... you remind me to check them now though.

I don't know if it was stored in the box,the person I got it from on the boards here said it worked fine the last time he checked it so I assume that was a long time ago.It was pretty obvious that he never checked it because it didn't work when I got it and the corrosion stood out like a sore thumb when I opened the battery compartment..but the alcohol did clean it up pretty good and now I know not to leave cheap batteries inside.I just wish this person would of been honest with me about all this and would of voided all of it..when buying something that takes batteries make sure the other person REALLY checks so your time isn't waisted..even if you got it from a MOD ,not happy with this whole transaction!!

Well it looks like the skulls might be going back, the seller is going to file a insurance claim on the bust.I told him that it wasn't a insurance claim as neglect with the batteries won't be covered but he said it wasn't like that before..so the corrosion must have happened on its way to me (we live about 4 hours from each other)so this is going to be good.

Mine Clean original one will only work if I leave at least one of the original batteries in.

I remember I was not the only person with this problem. It's like the batteries from china are a little bigger or something strange that makes it work.
