I just, luckily, acquired a SideShow FvJ Jason Voorhees. But, I want him to look just as Pitu's did! Can anyone help me with what to use to get the tears in the clothing and the best paint mixture? Also, the best way to scratch the mask? If possible, could anyone supply some quality pictures for reference? I'd dearly appreciate it.

Thank you,
CJK

Use a razor blade or exacto knife to make cuts and sandpaper to ruff up and fray the clothes a bit.

Check this one I use to have....One of Dark Artists legendary Customs...Pics by D.A.

This was the Best Custom FVJ Jason ever !!!!

I done alot of weathering too mine. One thing I'm not happy with is how my mask came out. I was aiming for the look of one of the very last scenes where freddy and jason are at the edge of the lake beating the crap out of each other , just near where freddy sticks his hand in his stomach. I will post up some pics of him later. He looks pretty decent.
I'm a noob at customizing though , getting the hang of it slowly but surely. :lol

I'm going to practice with the acrylics red and black paint, exacto, and sandpaper techniques tomorrow on my Myers jumpsuit. If I get a hang of it, I'll attempt it on Voorhees. If not, then I'll just have DarkArtist do it for me.

Thanks for all advice,
CJK

Ok, so I got the figure today and have pretty much decided that I'm going to have DarkArtist "have his way with it" haha! I'm just too nervous to make an attempt to customize him. Plus, DA has the best customization prices on the net for great work!

why is it that the mask on the 1/6 dosent come off but on the 1/4 it does, this is the only one that sideshow did where the mask says on :monkey4

and this one :whip is gay:lol im just kidding but no seriously

they didn't do the mask off on the figure because it never came off in the movie.
I presume they made up a face sculpt for the 1/4 to make it attract more buyers.

Yeah I keep forgetting that, still would be nice if it came off though. I just got it back again today thanks to a good friend. I LOVE this piece!!!!

You know... you bring up a good point there. What if a sculpt could be made? With a custom removable mask? :naughty

I will look into this...

At any rate, I will be making custom masks for any of the Jason figures. Just to let people spice up their collections a bit. Better, more accurate Jason masks. :rock

Seriously? :google You rule the boards Josh, no really, you kick ass bro! Any guess as to what each mask would cost us?

ok just paints though or could you do like a bullet hole version of the part 6

Well, the Part 6 mask and the part 4 mask were too flexible... causing them to look slightly warped and not as nice. Part 3 was great, just a tad thick. My cast is of the Part 3 mask, but it can be carved, modified and painted to look like any version from the films. I could even do a snapped in half version for Part 7, if you had him unmasked.

the one exrta thing thing that would be nice but im sure impossible is mini acurett straps but i know thats probably not worth it

Thanks guys! And to answer your question nsmpls, I'm looking into the buckles for the straps... seeing as I am doing the Part VIII. It's a possibility. But for now, they will be leather straps... not sure yet on buckles. But I WANT them to, so I will be doing all I can to make it happen.

And as for cost... I'm going to try and keep it affordable... Let me research the leather bits and such, but I am thinking it will range from $35-45 depending on what is used. Maybe even cheaper for certain ones.
