At comic con, cheerleaders were giving away pins and buttons to promote this show. I didn't care much ... until I saw the trailer.

check it out at:

NBC_First_Look_Heroes

and click on the trailer button.

It looks good. Anyone else looking forward to watching this show?

They always advertise for it during Treasure Hunters, at first I just ignored it, but then as I saw more I've started getting more intrigued by it. I agree with Evilface, from the commercials it does remind me of X-Men. I figure I'll watch a couple episodes and see if I like it.

it does look like x-men-ish but I think it is more dark toned. In the beginning of the trailer it shows a girl junping off from a 20 ft. platform and she just put her bones back together. It looks awesome.

I've heard some good buzz on this already. And good sci-fi shows are few and far between.

BTW, Eureka's been pretty good so far. Not great, but worth checking out.

It would take forever to download the trailer, so I might do it tomorrow, but its late for me to do it now, so I'm not sure what all is on there, but the commercials are pretty much what you described, shows one of the characters and gives a hint to their ability.

Along with the dark tone though, there is one commercial where this girl wakes up or something with all this blood in the bedroom and she looks in the mirror and the reflection says something. Bah, can't remember enough of it to be 100% accurate. Sorry if that was in there and I'm just restating what everyone already saw.

Another thing, I don't know if it is in this trailer is a kid staring at a clock and the second hand ticks back once, I just wonder if its supposed to be a PK ability or ability to alter time.

They didn't just give out pins at SDCC, they let you watch the entire pilot episode and meet the cast at the "Heroes" panel/presentation. I enjoyed it and would like to keep watching when it airs to see what happens next. It reminded me of a superheroic version of "Lost" because of the large ensemble cast. There is quite a lot that they could do with this show, and I hope it lives up to its potential.

And the Asian guy (who is a big Star Trek fan) can not only alter time, he is also trying to learn how to teleport himself. There is also a painter who gets high on drugs and paints pictures of the future--but only when he is shot full of heroine. Then there's the terrorist with the radioactive hand and the mind-reading cop and the invincible cheerleader, etc.

(I was literally one of the last few people that got a seat for the panel.)

Tried to get into the panel at SDCC but it was way, way too crowded. It is X-Menish and 4400ish, but could be decent.

I really enjoyed the pilot and hope this show lives past its freshman year. It is going to air Monday nights and 9pm so I hope the 24 audience dosn't hurt the show come January.

i'm REALLY interested in seeing this show. i've only seen a couple previews and haven't watched that trailer, but to me, it reminds me of a comic series by J. Michael Straczynski called "Rising Stars". in that, a "meteorite" hits and all the fetuses that are inutero at the time, within a certain area, grow up to have special powers. it's a great series, even if the ending wasn't that great, and took FOREVER to get done because of some dispute.

anyway, i think it's gonna be something like that since i've seen a few movies/shows barrow some aspects of that series. the movie "The One" w/ Jet Li and the TV show The 4400 seem to have taken some bits from Rising Stars.

I've got my DVR set up and ready to record it. Based on what I've seen so far it looks really cool. But so far my favorite new show is Smith. Ray Liotta rules!

I watched the premier for that last week and wow, I was impressed. I'll deffinately keep watching it.

So far so good. Kinda reminds me of X-Men :lol

I loved the not so subtle tie ins of characters. Trying too hard to be like LOST I think. NBC has a way of wrapping stuff up too quickly. I hope they can avoid that with this show because it has a lot of potential.

i hope so too. it has real potential. still reminds me of the comic "Rising Stars" for some reason.
