Anyone even been a victim?.. This happened yesterday to me while I was parked.. Lucky for me I had a witness that gave me all the info.. Cops tracked them down and now I have a police report.. These guys looked like total crack heads and I have a feeling this will get complicated to get money from them.. Any advice?.. Stories?..

You aren't going to get a cent from these people.

People that don't have insurance usually don't have any spare money and they also usually don't care. My GF got hit by a guy without insurance- even sued him and only got a couple hundred dollars out of the thousands she was owed.

I was hit and run by an illegal mexican... they caught her, police report was filed, the works

that was 4 years ago on Halloween and I haven't heard a thing since November 2004.

So yeah, if that gives you any indication.

I'm figuring the only power I have will be to prosecute them for the hit and run which the cop said could mean a minimum of a 1k fine, some jail time and have their licence suspended....

Which I'll probably do..

Once the cop dragged them back they were extremely rude to me.. They started pointing their finger in my face and kept saying shame on you.. WTF man, I was parked.. Sorry for hitting your moving truck w/ my parked car.. If the cop wasnt there I swear I would have knocked them out cold.

I have a busy ass work day today which entails driving around all day...And I have no left side brake light or blinker.. This should be interesting..

Prosecute. Get those type of people off the road. He could of at least been nice to you and said he would pay for the damages and then you wouldn't have to be a ^^^^ and prosecute but he made his own grave.

That was my line of thought.. I know people make mistakes... But they came back w/ the wrong attitide, got in my face.. And told nothing but lie after lie.. It was pathetic...

I hate them. Witness told me he would be happy to appear in court for the prosecution.

I pretty much know Ill have to pay for this myself.. ^^^^ers.

Wow, Bodie sorry to hear that.
I was run over many years ago by a hit and run, I was left under the car as they scarpered and ran off, stolen car apparently, they never caught them.

You do what you can, you were the injured party, prosecute them.

If my family were in the car she hit, I think I literally would have killed that girl, in front of the cops too.

I was parked on the street a couple of years ago and walked to my car and some ^^^^ hit my driver's side taillight and stratched all up the side of my car. Of course there was no note or anything, they just took off. People like that piss me off. I hope karma catches up with then and they get hit in the eye with a nailgun

I was driving home like 8 years ago and some guy decided last minute needed to exit so he slammed into me knocking me off the road and kept going. Someone who witnessed the incident attempted to follow him but he was haulilng so much ass they couldn't keep up. I of course got stuck with the repair bill on that one. People are giant *********s!

But at least in your case they've been identified. You're still probably screwed, but you can cause them trouble in the meantime.

^^^^ that, cops or no cops, his ass I can promise would be flat on the ground with a sharp tingling pulse in his face! ^^^^ people, ^^^^ them all! This story upsets me, hope everything works out for you!

My ex wife and I seen a car hit another and drive off before. We chased him down and I made him wait till the cops came. He was wasted. It was on Christmas eve in 05.

Incidentally I won't sit here and make it sound like I pinned him down or anything. Although I could have. I used my smarts and kept him talking about BS the entire time. He was so drunk that he didn't have a clue what was going on. I figure better that than get all macho on the guy and whoop him up. It wasn't necessary.

Now what pissed me off is that my ex had to go to court as a witness for the little old lady he t-boned. She said they never even said thank you to her once. This old ladys entire family came too.

The ONE time I took my wife's car to work, it got hit in the parking lot. I knew it had to be someone at work, I spread the word that it was all caught on camera and that the police were contacted. We DON'T have a camera, but not too many people know that. The woman who hit my car came forward, and wanted to avoid insurance. She wanted to know if I could give her a "lay-away plan" so she could pay for my damages. I told her absolutley not and finally talked her into going to the insurance, that's why we have the damn thing after all....So I had to go home and tell my wife her car was hit and that her Uncle had died in an accident that day as well..not a fun day!

Sucks about your truck dude. Thats why I always park where no one wants to park. You might as well just get it fixed yourself, since you won't see a dime from these losers.
