I think he sold most or all of the buy it now Hawkeye, Wolverine Origins and Mark VII's.

I'm not sure about the auction type listings though, he had a Nick Fury that I was watching.

I had emails from the seller yesterday.received 2 emails from ebay today that his items were taken down.I was watching them all.hope those who paid for Hawk get their cash back, which I know ebay will.
1 born every minute aye? Sorry Username but I was curious to see what went down, my mind doesn't think like a crim and I'd like to think most ppl in the world were honest, lol...definately learnt something here today.

Well that's the thing that is being exploited isn't it? The vast majority of people are honest and so they expect everyone else to be too. Of course, it's the right way to be but...:gah:

I know that I am stating the 'bleedin' obvious' but I just do not get the mindset behind that type of ice cold logic and cynical exploitation of decent people's honesty. The mind set that starts out with 'Today I am going to rob some more honest people! It's alien. :dunno

I hope you all get your money back from this, and that all of his gets garnisheed and returned to all original parties.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the message board but have been collecting Hot Toys for years now. I must confess - I am one of those people that purchased from mkdidodi2010 (ebay ID). I purchased (2) Mark VII's and some Hawks.

I went against my better judgment and said well maybe this person found or purchased from someone that has been hoarding these. Well - after looking into things more I said to myself - too many red flags and I contacted Ebay.

Some red flags for me was....
--Buyer was from Japan and the items came from China
--To many Wolverines especially - I looked into things more with the Wolverines and seen that this was a case of a lot of fakes were produced. I noticed that the jacket was different in quality and coloring.

I am guessing during this time others as well contacted Ebay. Next thing you know the auctions came down and the seller no longer was a valid ebayer.

So the "items" are on their way to my house - from China, then now in Chicago and next out towards the East coast.

The good news for myself and others they can open a case and have the funds placed on hold. Ebay's buyer protection is a good thing especially in a case like this. All i have to do is not to accept the packages and have them sent back. Once this is done - the money will be credited back to my account and nothing was lost.

I figured that others on this message board are facing the same story and I wanted to give my take on it and updated status.

Lessoned learned!

P.S. I have been a member for a few months now and been reading a lot of postings. This is a great site for collectors.

Thanks!

Well, he said the items were en route to his home so he didn't have them in hand when he posted.

He states that he can choose to not accept the packages and have them sent back to ensure the money he spent gets placed on hold (if I read that correctly).

I'm curious if he'll refuse them upon delivery or if he's going to open the packages to inspect whether they are indeed fakes.

Or they may turn out to be beads, scarves, wooly hats/gloves (always handy as the weather is about to turn cold) or some other such non-figurelike piece of crap.

The package came today! From Seller Hotbooks2012 Ebay

Obviously, it was fake, what arrived was a T-Shirt.
Opened up case, contacted ebay, said its most likely going to my favor since this seller has been reported and over the policy breaking standards for this month. Don't even need to mention the amount of negative feedbacks he got over the week.

Also, I noticed there are more and more sellers on ebay doing the same...right now, I'm only buying items from sellers in the USA...way too suspicious even for other places like UK, Australia and etc...

:violin:pow Thought they would have at least gave you a fake figure but guess they weren't feeling that generous!

Hope you get your money back as soon as possible.

Thus ends the mystery. I hope everyone who fell into this trap receives a refund! Thanks for the info. Case in point, only buy from known sellers/stores.

Hello Again Everyone,

Thank you for the warm welcome. So a quick update about the scams....I live in PA and the items that were shipped to me are currently out for deliver in Florida. I just got off the phone with Paypal and in the days to come the transaction will go in my favor and money back in my account.

I agree with above - buyer beware of overseas sellers, unless they have countless amounts of feedback with items already sold from last few years.

Not sure if this is the place to do this and if it is not I am sure that someone will promptly let me know regarding my post. I have a Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Agent Coulson I want to sell and want to avoid all the fees on ebay. If anyone is interested let me know and make a fair offer and I will seriously consider it.
