Some random thoughts on the Cobb Vanth figure after spending a week with him:

I think the headsculpt is quite good! Hopefully my photos did the likeness justice. Not perfect, but I think people would be hard-pressed to come up with more than five sculpts released in 2023 who look more like the person they’re supposed to be than this Olyphant sculpt. But I hope every figure I get from here forward has movable eyes.

Glad I never picked up the reclaimed-armor Boba because it meant this armor was all-new to me. The weathering and paint is really impressive.

The rocket blast-effect is so good! And I love how the rocket plugs into the pack.

Love the mini-diorama base with various configurations; every figure should come with a stand that allows them to get a leg up!

Very odd to have a figure that includes a jetpack and flame effects not also include a flight stand; luckily I have others.

The pants have been praised before and they’re super well done, but also - Cobb’s boots and the weathering on them might be the most realistic I have seen on a figure. It’s a weird thing to obsess over but they stood out to me.

The kneckerchief is a pain in the ***! Was obviously a thicker fabric in the prototype promo photos and should have stayed that way. As it is, too light a fabric to really manipulate easily. Hard to keep it from looking like it’s floating above the armor since it is so light.

Overall great figure; some show inaccuracies but no dealbreakers by any means.

Well Popcultcha did good, as usual, for me, CV showed up after a long trip...

First thoughts the sculpt is pretty awesome, lots of fine lines, I like it a lot not sure why some had issues?
The scarf bugs me a little; it's too clean, maybe needs a water treatment.

But letting him warm up to room temperature for a while, before doing any messing about. Overall, no regrets at
all, absolutely has the lanky CV look, now I've got the 3 Mando badass good guys (Boba, Mando, CV). IMO pretty unique *warm fuzzies* for the character. A purchase that was a little pricey but worthy in the collection.:love

Got my Cobb today and already set to work on modding him, as he wasn't looking nearly slim enough for my taste. Went with a generic narrow shoulder body that had narrower hips than the HT one, and used some more subtle padding than they did.

Still needs some fine tuning and perhaps to be made a smidge taller. Olyphant is only 6 feet but with the head size the figure still doesn't come across as tall as it should be. And I need to add more distinctive gray highlights to the hair as well. And make a much better bandanna.

Looks good but the shirt looks a bit too big in the shoulders in those first two shots. Probably just needs some futzing to have the seams for the sleeves sit higher. His left one looks fine but the right one is hanging down off the shoulder quite a bit. But then I've yet to take mine out of the box so take my comments with a grain of salt - the shirt might look like that with the stock body as well. :lol

Yeah the HT body has shoulder pads to make him look much broader, so the fit isn't going to be as good now. But I could probably still futz that side better.

I had to deal with Olyphant's dad once years ago at my previous employer. Guy was pretty rude, even said the classic "Do you know who I am?" spiel. Definitely left a negative impression on me towards ever owning this.

When they make a figure of his dad...I probably won't buy it now :)

Some people become the opposite of their parents because of how they’ve seen people be treated by them. Maybe Olyphant is one of those? Too bad his dad doesn’t sound like the greatest guy in the world.

You're going to judged Timothy for the sins of his father.

What’s the trick to getting the shirt off? Feels like he’s wearing padding underneath when he didn’t need it.

He is wearing padding beneath the shirt. The shirt has one of those elastic thongs going between the legs to keep it tucked in. You basically have to carefully get the elastic over one leg before you can easily remove the shirt. A bit of overkill but the strap could be easily snipped off and not missed.

Thanks! I never really modify my figures but I thought if the padding here could be removed in a non-destructive way I’d give it a shot.

Yeah this figure took a bit of work to remove the clothing for. Lots of stitches on the shirt, that elastic strap holding it down, and the holster you need to carefully pry apart at the buckle. And the fat suit is sewn on as well.
