Sorry but you missunderstand. The hands do NOT grip the trident when you put them in. I actually don't think getting them into the hands is even an issue. He cannot hold the trident without slipping up and down and all overthe place while still in his hand. The opening on both of his hands are too wide to grip the staff. This is a big issue for me as the basic thing a figure needs to do is to hold their weapons.
Am I the only one with this issue? Surely I am not where both hands are not tight enough? Looking at Justin's photo I can see gaps in this hands as he holds the trident so it's odd he didn't mention that. Unless of course I am totally wrong in which case fine. It means I can return my faulty figure.

Also the right elbow on mine will not stay bent at 45 degrees. The left elbow will but not the right. And this really pisses me off as I want that poster stance. I did see that Justin does not have this issue as it's clear both his arms bend and hold the position fine.

From the few videos I?ve seen and photos the elbow articulation didn?t seem to be a problem. I think I remember someone saying he?s got ratchet joints, maybe you got a dud?

As far as the hands ... that also doesn?t make much sense since a lot of photos have him holding the trident just fine. However the possibility of you getting a figure with two defects seems highly unlikely. Disheartening to read. The ol? hair dryer trick may work on the hand to get more grip.

If you want accuracy, you have to pay through the nose nowadays.

The Queen Studios 1/2 scale statue looks near perfect.

Actually hot toys could have easily match this quality. They just choose not to for some reason.

Honestly I’ve never seen a Hot Toys headsculpt that could match this one. But making a straight comparison is unfair as the statue is 1/2 scale and as such it’s a much bigger canvas to get more detail and of course the use of silicon and well groom rooted hair makes it even more lifelike.

Heck just look at the Queen Studios or Infinity Studio lifesize WW busts. They absolutely crush the Hot Toy pieces. But again it’s unfair to compare a $3,300 USD piece to a Hot Toys figure.

Any idea on how the tighten the elbow?
I could heat the jands but I really should not have to for a Hot Toy plus I am trying to establish if this is an issue for my one only or if this is a problem for others. If you look at Justin's photos looks to me like his hands are also very loose on the grip also.

I need to know this before I cast judgement on another reviewer. To me this a very big flaw that should be mentioned IF it is indeed a common flaw. I am hoping it is not to be honest as it means I can return the figure...though the elbow alone kinda makes me want to do that.

Anyways, here's some pics....again, I do love the look but that hands and elbow are kinda killing the enjoyment here somewhat...

Ok so I have since found out that this is indeed a thing with this figure. Aquaman cannot grip this trident. That sucks. And I betcha the "second batch" if there will be one will have this corrected. So to me that big problem to be having so I see what I will do about it.

That?s too bad. Otherwise he does look pretty cool in your photos. Those colors are great. Luckily I plan on posing him with the trident supported by the shelf anyway, but still. That?s pretty bush league.

I just came across a Facebook post review that doesn't show these issues either. So I'm wondering if Eamon got either an early figure and they've made a super early change in the production (seems unlikely) or just a bum hand.

Eamon, you didn't by any chance get two identical non-gripping hands, did you?

Well if it is just mine that would be good as I can return it. As it was both hands unable to grip I assumed it may have been a common issue but if it?s definitely not then I can just take down the video. Don?t want folks thinking there are issues when there?s not.

Just use some blu tack so the trident doesn't move and problem is solved. I will be concerned with the durability with the paint on the trident if it keeps rubbing itself against the tight hands. All that friction from rubbing is going to be painful.

Blu tac does NOT solve the problem, it a mere temp fix at best. But I did use bluetac....and cannot now remove from the inner hand as it has has too many recesses. I also shouldn't have to do this for such an expensive figure. Both hands unable to grip and then the elbow not holding any bend at at all is just too much. One or the other but is bareable but not both.

Get that junk replaced. The elbow is inexcusable and obviously jacked based on every other figure I?ve seen so far.

Your collection of shots are great, Eamon...heck, you are making the figure look better than the shots on the order page!

That's a drag about the elbow issue and the non-grip hands. I usually notice the opposite problem with the hands...really tight and takes some effort to get them to hold an object.

I hope that if you go for a replacement that you get one with decent elbows and hands.

Thanks lads. Well it does turn out that I have for sure here a dud figure so please do not let my own issues sway you. I will be seeking a replacment as I do love this guy.

Yeah he doesn't pose much at all but he just looks totally boss. I will be selling my Justice League one in favour of this.

People are always complaining how they shouldn't so some adjustments or fixes because a figure is expensive. Nothing is perfect no matter how much money you pour into it.
