I'm guessing this fella belongs in the robot section. Pics courtesy of toy-world.

Loved that show when i was a kid.looks like an amazing little figure..

I'm so looking forward to these... gonna have to break out my old Medi and Takara ones!

I saw a trailer for this movie with Up, and was surprised that the mouths were synced up for the English language voice actors. I figure this will be much more popular in Japan than here, but maybe not. . .

Looks great, but I would prefer an angry or shouting/surprised expression on the face much more. He's just too happy and care free, life as Astro boy wasn't all smiles & sunshine you know...

:lecture Some good points.. with a fairly simple scultp surely HT could add 1 extra head with different expression!

Looks cool but I have absolutely no idea who Astro Boy is.

Some would argue that Astro Boy is a significant milestone in Anime history.

Anyway, the figure looks like it's based on the movie, which has yet to prove its worth. But it looks cool.

i saw the trailer at comic con for the movie and it looked pretty cool...Sam jackson is gonna be one of the voices too. this figure looks pretty sweet so ima have to get into this line too.

He was originally created in the early 50's as a Manga... or one could say THE Manga character by Osamu Tezuka, it pretty much set the die for the style of Anime when it was first animated, Tezuka had in turn been influenced by Disney which is why he gave Astro the distinctive hair. It was intended that the hair would stay the same from all angles like early Mickey Mouse cartoons.
