These look like samurai ... interesting in a way but I think the OT one's are cooler. Maybe if these guards had a black visor of some sort like the OT ones I would be more into them. I like the armor though.

Yeah for sure, I feel like they'd benefit from a visor. I think it's difficult to pull off intimidating without the ability to feel like you're being stared down lol. I'm really wondering if they're somehow controlled by Snoke due to their (apparent) lack of vision.

Too bad that all the armor these guys wear won't save them from little fuzzy bears whirling tree branches. Armor in SW is the most useless accessory,

I agree. I wish they would've just stuck with the original OT Royal Guards so that we could've seen them in action!
I don't understand why they needed to change everything as much as they did form the OT, the First Order is still somewhat a part of or grown from the Empire. The Falcon really didn't change much, they kept that OT.

I heard that the Praetorian Guards have "Lightsabers" but couldn't find an image showing this, although the Lego set has one. I finally found an image that confirms that they do have something that looks like a Lightsaber, I cropped this image to highlight it:


I think these guys will definitely be facing off against someone with an actual lightsaber.

Possible, but I'd hope not, the Knights of Ren looked far cooler in TFA than these guys. I'm hoping the Knights of Ren make a strong appearance sometime in the future, I'd like to see them in action.

I don't think they're the Knights. The new version of the "Everything You Need To Know" book says there are 8 Praetorian Guards. There's only 6 Knights of Ren (7 if you include Kylo), so I'm starting to think they're different now.

Since Mad Old LU refuses to post this, I will for him:

I got a shot of the Guards with Kylo, but none by themselves. They looked good but the designs don't really excite me. Here's the shot with Kylo:

Interestingly, they have accidently revealed the third GUARD -- the one with the square on his head is neither the Reg Praetorian Guard nor the Elite Praetorian Guard as previously revealed although he is now listed as the "Elite" guard which was previously the other one.
