Hot Toys - Groot - 1/6 Figure - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

I'm getting it. I have no Groot and I like the action potential with this one. Plus, Sideshow let me use a Coupon Code with it.

I have zero Guardians, so the comic-accurate suits intrigue me. I would also likely get Star-Lord and Rocket. I have custom-Drax and custom-Gamorra in the hopper.

I'd be interested to see pics of the custom Drax and Gamora...i don't feel that HT has delivered on these 2 characters so far

I haven't even started on them hence the "in the hopper" statement, lol. The concepts are just swimming around in my cerebellum. Gamora would be the easiest since I prefer the armor-up-to-the-neck style. Drax as you can imagine, not so easy.

I like both OG Groot and new Groot, they’re different entities so makes sense for them to look different.

Solid film! I don't have any Guardians and I don't plan on having any, but this Groot is a badass in the movie. Probably my favorite iteration. Just going by my local theater this was the biggest thursday night crowd post covid I've seen yet

My guess a combination of not ready, spoilery accessories they don’t want to not advertise and May 4th.

My bet is they will start putting out more teases and announcements this time next week once the films been out a chunk of time.

Then again this is Hot Toys and Marvel, they waited forever to announce the red and blue Spider-Man from NWH and closer to GotG the Mantis from last years Holiday Special.

Kind of hoping to see a 2-pack that has Star-Lord & Rocket, I feel like there wouldn't be enough for single figures of either (especially since there isn't a Star-Lord helmet and if I remember correctly, Rocket only had the one gun by the end when he was wearing the matching outfit)

Really enjoyed the movie and have been thinking about it a lot since seeing it Friday morning. I could actually see myself going into this line, I used to own every GOTG except either of the Gamoras and had to sell them during the Big C when things were a bit rough (I did hang onto the GOTG 1 Star-Lord though which is my favorite version of him). Having them all in the same outfit could be cool and make them look like a complete "team" plus I don't miss my anxiety of how well the previous figures were going to hold up in terms of their pleather outfits, these look to be mostly fabric/vinyl. Might depend on whether they do updated head sculpts though, but if they don't and can make the figures a little cheaper than usual that might be cool too.

The movie was a great ending. Swole Groot sold me for sure. I really liked the team look, but NGL, I really like their rag-tag look from the beginning, especially Nebula with that angel of death-lookint jetpack.

Yes I preferred those looks as well, there's a least poster showing all of them together in their casual attire from the beginning and I think they all look pretty awesome.

I saw the movie this afternoon with my wife, we both liked it a lot!!

That said, nothing I saw in the movie makes me think we will not be getting an Adam Warlock. Also think we we certainly get a Drax.

This Groot figure looks really cool, but I will likely stick with my Guardians Vol.1 Groot.

We will get a Warlock. But not for this one. The film is too busy and loaded with potential figures for us to get him this time around.

I’m happy to have Groot in all of his incarnations, including venomized Baby. He’s a fun character and so not plain vanilla- not that there’s anything wrong with vanilla. But Hot Toys earns their dough on these
