So I opened up to repose the PERS today on my DX 04 Bruce Lee, and notice the magnet on the hairpiece has a corrosion/rust. Just like the ones on my thor's hair piece. The ones on Thor was like that when I first opened it, and was wondering if anyone is experiencing similar problems?

I put all of my HT's behind a temperature controlled room, away from sunlight and behind closed glass display btw.

Also if anyone know how to get rid of the rust and clean it, I'd appreciate it. :wave

Weird...I'd leave it alone...wd 40 might get it off but might eat the glue holding the magnet in place away.

I just use a paper towel and wiped off the rust, and I think its better now. But yeah, I'm afraid of using harsh chemicals, who knows what it will do to the plastic hairpiece.

Also have the rust on my Thor and DX Bruce Lee. Was gonna post about this the other day but you beat me to it.

I have the same problem on my BL, the glue's also come off from the magnet. And I was thinking of selling it too. :slap

I also encounter the rusty issue. Normally I will apply WD40 on the surface or simply just paint the surface black colour will do.

another problem :slap:gah:

So I checked my HT DX 01, and the magnet piece on the hair has a crack. After taking it off, the silver coating on the magnet began to chip away :gah:

What do you expect when you pay $250-$300 for a figure that costs $40- $60 if that, to manufacture in China or Japan. I remember when HT figs were $80-$125. You guys pay the big dollars and when the stuff breaks you can't believe it. They are breaking because the stuff is poorly made and quality control is not a priority, profitability is the main priority for HT. Just buy statues, you don't have to worry about corrosion or any other deterioration problems.

The nickel coating on rare earth (Neodymium) magnets shouldn't break down or corrode. They can chip though, when snapping onto a surface.

HT must be using cheap magnets if they are getting rusty.:dunno You know, 50 cents a figure extra cost really adds up when you're making 10,000 of them.

My DX-04 figure had the magnet from the hair piece dropped out, no rust though.

Yesterday, my RE Alice figure had the magnet from the hai piece dropping out too!! Talk about QC haha but it did not had any rust and I used super glue to stick it back.

Realised that HT factory use some sort of super glue with white residue that does not seem to glue very well as I saw the same residue on my DX-04 magnet too...

Just saw this thread and had to go check my DX01 Joker. I have no such issue. It still looks like it did out of the box. Strange that some are rusting. Maybe it's something to do with the moisture in the air???

I had a little bit of rust on my Thor but I just wiped it off & I had to glue the magnet back on to because it came off, I didn't view it as a problem though, both really easy fixes.

dude, it's a freakin magnet that is not even meant to be seen! who gives a ____!
