If you haven't already heard HT have announced there making 1/4 Figures as part of there Dark Knight Rises line. So what do you Freaks think of Hot Toys making 1/4 figures. I'm guessing if this is successful we'll definitely be getting other figures to follow, such as Iron Man may be ;)

Ha yeah, I should of seen it coming after Enterbay announced the T800, I'm sticking with 1/6 though because for me personally, that's a nice size to collect, I haven't got tons of room to display my figures but it'll be interesting to see how much HT are going to charge for these but I definitely won't rule out buying a 1/4 Batman & Predator 1 but there the only two characters which would interest me in that kind of scale.

Depending on price, count me out for most of them. 1/6 is hard enough for a full time college student. And 1/6 is a good standard scale across the industry like Sideshow Star Wars or the Dragon Astronaut or the DCDirect V for Vendetta or all the Brothers Production figs that nobody else dares to make. Not to mention that it sounds like HT and even Enterbay will stay in the 1/6 game. Plus it's nice having everything in the saaame scale!!!

id get the chuckles if they go back to finish lines in 1/4, let me give a fine example Kyle Reese 1/4 to compliment 1/6 t-800, then collectors cant say no and have to buy it. its a savvy way to think of it.

I think the success or failure of this is really dependent upon the collectors. If as a whole people still prefer 1/6 over 1/4 then 1/4 will likely remain limited to certain releases and significantly smaller production numbers. I am just hoping Enterbay gives Hot Toys some competition.

says figurines so maybe they are making statues as well as action figures

i'd love them to do statues as there attention to detail is amazing..imagine if they did premium format statues

Crap, I didn't know HT had already announced 1/4 Avengers. That's a definite pass for me. A 1/6 Hulk is what I really want from that line.

I really have no interest in 1/4 figuers. I'm sure they will look great, but they're too big and honestly remind me more of toys than I like.

1/6 is great for figures, 1/4 and above is better for statues.

As long as they don't discontinue the 1/6 line then so be it. I have enough trouble with spending on that scale as it is. Which sort of begs the question, how are they going to make each scale different? Does a bigger version of the same sculpt warrant a 1/4? 1/6 more accessories? 1/4 more detail?

TDK and Avengers in both 1/6 and 1/4?Well i would be surprised if we see more than 1 non-TDK/Avenger figure in 2012.

1/6 scale has been around for a LONG time and Hot Toy's 1/6 figures have seen unprecedented success in recent years. So I doubt Hot Toys will be releasing 1/4 figures in a way that kills their 1/6 business.

Rather, it is very clear that they are trying to tap into the 1/4 scale statue market and target those collectors.

So the 1/4 scale would most probably end up being a Hot Toys DX on steroids with releases strictly limited to the most iconic characters.

it really doesnt matter if they start making 1/4 to compete with Enterbay because if the sculpts are inaccurate like the Terminator 2 was compared to Enterbay's they can make it 1:1 and its still not good.
