Awesome figure, but I have a bad feeling that all the acessories are gonna oush this one up there in price. Hopefully il be able to track down just the figure by itself.

When I look at this head sculpt, I think: "Make it so, number one!"

Overall package is fantastic (hopefully we can say the same about it's value), just the headsculpt leaves much to be desired.

They might improve it, you never know.

Re: MMS 191 - Iron Man 3 - Tony Stark

To echo others: the sculpt looks a hell of a lot better from profile-ish views than dead on. It's off in the same way that Gordon is if that makes sense. And it's true, HT needs to start moving head instead of falling behind as they have been lately. All their recent sculpts lack in comparison to their comp: Angelica, Gordon, Cap, T-800, Luke, & DX12 Cowl. If they don't change for the better Thor & Wolvie are in that batch.

Don't get me wrong; they're still sick figures but their not hitting the same mark sculpt-wise as Enterbay's: Kobe, Jordan, TML, Elvis, Django & Calvin. They're no where near Blitzway's Carlito. Hell, even Iminime has stuff that is more spot on and Rainmain's Anton is a dead ringer.

I like the fact that they finally have a Tony specific body (Ark Reactor) but is it me or does it look a bit buff for RDJ? I know people hate rubber (for good reason) but I like that there's no elbow joints :D. This body will work for a lot of other customs

Hopefully they make necessary changes because this could be a really awesome set.

i don't think that's the case, i used to be a fan of him. When i look at these pics i see the best RDJ sculpt made so far. There is a lot of TLC put into this set people don't appreciate it.

It's just sad how there is little joy anymore. There isn't one single figure on this board that people are happy with, there is always something wrong from big huge dealbreaking issues to teeny tiny inconsequential ones. In this case it's near perfection and people still aren't happy, that annoys me

You know the way it goes bro. Everyone bashes and would NEVER buy this "piece of crap" untill they "break" and once it's in hand they're in love. Surprisingly the DX12 is getting nothing but love and acceptance despite the fact that it's riddled with QC issues

The face is off and I would rather have him in his new Iron Man 3 armor than in his shop clothes. I know that's coming but I would have rather it first. Of course, the best option would have been this one coming with a full suit that fits on the figure.

Thats a nice looking figure. The sculpt is pretty good but I still like the one that came with the MKIV better. I will get this one.

That pompadour has got to go. Otherwise, it's not too bad! This Tony Stark looks less puffy around the eyes... poor RDJ is starting to get up there. We're still waiting for a perfect Downey headsculpt, but with just a few tweaks I think they could nail it.

Everything else that comes with this guy is a show stealer!

Well.....there goes my plans to start saving money after all the things I have on pre-order.

I missed out on the mech version, the gantry version and don't have the skills to bash together a Tony Stark figure, so this is ideal for me.

Not a big enough IM fan to pick this up, but it's a great set for building a nice workshop diorama (esp w/the hall of armour). Like the headsculpt, too, and for me it's one of the closest to RDJ that I've seen (especially for a proto... have to expect it'll be closer by release). I'm less concerned about likeness to any particular actor than the look passing for something out of the comics (when it comes to Marvel stuff), so maybe I have a less critical eye in that regard.

To my knowledge Hot Toys has not improved a sculpt between proto and release in YEARS. Literally.
