I really don't understand why Phasma gets all this criticism. When you think about it, it's not like we were promised anything before the movie came out. Everyone saw a cool shiny stormtrooper in the trailer and assumed she was gonna be a badass. She's just a glorified stormtrooper, just like the flametroopers and snowtroopers. I don't see nearly as many complaints about them getting $200 figures.

I think people would be more appreciative of her if she was not in the trailer at all and her appearance was a total surprise

So she didn't get much screen time. She'll get another chance I'm sure. The action figure looks pretty sweet so I'm buying it.

Those guys are just filler, show up in the background, shoot some stuff, look badass, maybe get killed--but most don't have lines, and none were the butt of a joke (trash compactor callback), etc. So with those troopers there's almost nothing to critique except the designs.

I think with no actual news on the figure this threads is still treated as a place to chime in on a new character in the SW universe. I know for myself I don't really visit any movie threads to discuss SW as there's usually a good amount in the figure threads--I'm sure it's the same for others.

The problem is the people who already said they are not getting it keep sticking around to criticize character.

Well to save money I repainted a £20 figure I found in toys 'r' us and resculpted the elbow joint for a dynamic pose. The replaced the plastic cape eith a material one. I then added water marks and a bit of battle damage. It was cheap but the best I could find. If I find a better material I will replace the cape asap

I used black gloss paint and then used Alclad 2 laquer. It shines up a treat.

She's barely a "character". More like a shiny trooper to sell toys.

Did you air brush it? That's the best way to get a mirror finish with it.

Certainly did. Took a while and left it to cure for 3 days before I added the water damage/weathering. Same for the cape used black and brown dry brushing to dirty up the cape and make it hang better.
